Senior Planning and Project Manager

Position Summary

The Senior Planning and Project Manager provides support to business unit executives and serves as a trusted liaison between leadership and associates.  Maintains momentum towards accomplishing strategic goals by management of multiple projects within the assigned Line of Business. This position acts as a liaison between departments and management by disseminating communications, ensuring swift decision-making, facilitating the resolution of obstacles and conflict, and fostering a collaborative and empowering culture that reaches across functions, creating a positive work environment.   

         

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for project scope, goals, and deliverables that support the assigned Line of Business strategic and operational goals

Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones, proactively manages changes in project scope, designs workflow and automationDefines project success criteria and disseminates to all parties involved throughout project life cycle; Identifies potential issues and contingency plansResearches and compiles relevant data and submits progress reports to managementSupervises the design, implementation, testing, monitoring and on-going use of a system and associated project;Serves as the Business Unit SME on projects managed by an ePMO Project Manager or other Business Unit Project ManagerLeads the project’s due diligence and Vendor Management process, both initially and annually.

Facilitates open channels of communication in support of Line of Business executive

Develops and maintains a relationship with department managers and senior management to ensure the direction and focus of project is in line with the business plan.Ensures clarity of direction by relaying directives and information between business unit executives and associates and keeping leadership aware of the organization's pulse by relaying critical insight and information from staff members to business unit executives.Enables swift decision-making and problem resolution by ensuring information flows efficiently and effectively across the organization, often providing quick triage of critical business issues and routing the information accordingly.Keeps staff and stakeholders apprised of crucial information by building implementation and communication cadence of quarterly, monthly, and weekly meetings for the leadership team.

Compliance and Standardization

Ensure continuity of project and project management throughout the bank by adhering to the Enterprise Project Management Standards and ProceduresSets expectations by closely communicating with end users.Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and small groups.Ability to manage processes and personnel even if those activities and individuals are not directly accountable to the individual from an organizational standpoint.Ability to write correspondence and routine reportsStrong knowledge of financial products and industry best practices and regulatory requirements for model risk management.

Education and/or Experience

BS/BA Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred, and6-8 years of related experience

Computer Skills 

MS Office programsAdvanced PowerPoint Presentation skillsAdvanced knowledge of Smartsheet

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Project Management Professional or higher strongly desired

Other Qualifications (including physical requirements)

Strong time management, oral, written and presentation skills.Must demonstrate strong strategic thinking, judgment, motivation, dependability, project management, and analytical skills and qualities.Collaborative mind-set with strong interpersonal skills.
