**Sr Plant Pathology Scientist**
**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Accountable for scientific and operational excellence of the Vegetable Pathology workflows in Woodland, CA designs lab and testing processes for disease characterization, and implements new assays, technologies, and process improvements, including IT/Digital components. Connects globally within and beyond Vegetable Pathology.
The primary responsibilities of this role,Senior Plant Pathology Scientist, are to:
+ Propose and drive improvements in lab and testing processes while demonstrating knowledge of specialized scientific techniques. Follows scientific literature to function as content experts for disease traits and pathogens/pests, and apply novel technologies as necessary to advance project objectives;
+ Drive project management, process implementation and improvements, including digital transformation of the Vegetable Pathology program, encompassing all lab, controlled environment, and field activities of the Woodland Vegetable Pathology program;
+ Coordinate with the local Vegetable Pathology community the multiple testing and innovation activities, while interfacing globally in Vegetable Pathology to ensure global alignment, coordination and tracking of activities;
+ Act as a key connector within the Woodland site to support and facilitates pathology activities, and, with the Global Vegetable Pathology community to drive joint global outcomes with local contributions;
+ Connect with enabling teams across Vegetable R&D when necessary to drive process implementation, improvements, and delivery of results. Also connects with product units and phenotyping teams to monitor and report new disease threats;
+ Champions a culture of community in Vegetable Pathology, within Woodland and Globally, and with other local and global functions.
**WHO YOU ARE**
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
+ Ph.D. in plant pathology or related field with relevant experience, including lab, controlled environment, and field activities;
+ Ability to create and drive research projects, technologies, publications, intellectual property, or trade secrets;
+ Strong disease technical experience, passion for adopting digital tools and processes, coupled with strong operational and organizational acumen;
+ Proven ability to lead change, strong result orientation, cooperation/collaboration, initiative/proactivity;
+ Demonstrated project and/or project management ability, highly organized.
+ Outstanding analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Ph.D. in plant pathology or related field with minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including lab, controlled environment, and field activities.

Relocation may be offered for this role.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $120,557.60 to $180,836.40 Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
