Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Plumbing Design/Engineering team based in Raleigh, North Carolina office, and the opportunity to work on the healthcare facilities , higher education & science and technology plumbing MEP projects.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Able to lead and mentor staff on all of their responsibilities. Working knowledge of various codes including but not limited to North Carolina Plumbing Code, IPC, UPC and CPC as well as NFPA 99 Review code related items with engineers to ensure compliance. Perform at a responsible charge level of meeting exp design and quality levels. Ability to QC work of plumbing engineering staff. Creates the narratives (basis of design) for the SD work. Perform front-end loading of plumbing systems. Develop and monitor plumbing work plans in conjunction with PM. Write specification sections. Manages work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours. Writes studies and reports for plumbing and medical gas systems when needed on projects. Understand and apply engineering principles and fundamentals. Be able to troubleshoot construction issues on site with the team. Assist the Project Manager with developing fees, add services, and overseeing the project design.
What your experience looks like
The candidate shall be proficient with both plumbing engineering and design, with a minimum of 5 years of experience and looking to enhance their career. Experience in the design of healthcare facilities and associated requirements is a must. Has extensive background into NFPA 99 and NFPA 55 Has designed medical gas systems for MOB, ASC and Hospitals. Has worked with DHSR Has experience with the City of Raleigh and City of Durham Inspections departments The candidate must have strong communication skills, be able to direct other individuals in the design of plumbing systems and be knowledgeable with Revit. The candidate must be able to regularly interface with the client through regular attendance at project meetings, performing existing condition site surveys, and job site walks to trouble shoot construction issues.
