Senior Policy Analyst

Responsibilities Work closely with CGM Solutions program management team and client leadership to oversight, assess, gather, and track status of client’s multifaceted array of internal and external organizational requirements. Support development and implementation of process to analyze laws, executive orders, and DoD directives, instructions, and decisions to determine the impact on U.S. military programs and efforts. Conduct policy research and analysis, development, and coordination of strategy, plans, policies, and doctrine for civilian protection in connection with military operations. Apply technical expertise to executive-level projects, and analyze, assess, and develop future strategies, plans, policies, and doctrine governing civilian harm mitigation. Work with OSD, Joint Staff, Interagency, Multinational and National Guard partners for policy formulation on civilian protection in operational issues. Coordinate client project or technical management for intermediate to complex policy projects. Compose documents and prepare senior leader decision packages. Adjudicate inputs to senior leader decision packages, prepare handouts, and distribute read aheads and other associated products in support of these projects. Prepare National Guard Leaders for participation in strategic working group meetings. Build productive collaboration among people with diverse ideas, perspectives, and values. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. 7+ years experience as a policy analyst supporting the DoD, OSD, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, or Military Services. Experience researching and evaluating reports from private and public organizations dedicated to defense studies. Experience conducting research and analysis and contributing to the coordination of strategy or doctrine for military operations. Experience analyzing laws, executive orders, regulations, and DoD directives, instructions, and/or manuals. Experience writing DoD policies, including directives, instructions, and/or manuals. Experience supporting working groups and governance committees at the working group and executive levels. Experience coordinating with DoD, OSD, Joint Staff, Military Departments, Combatant Commands, Interagency, or Allies/International Partners to develop strategy, plans, and policies. Experience developing or analyzing policies related to protecting civilians from harm in connection with military operations in conflict zones. Experience in developing strategies and policies with a future focus that guides activities of an organization and incorporates the vision and long-term goals of leadership. Ability to develop background papers, talking points, reports, and briefings suitable for all levels of leadership. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and independently with minimal guidance. Knowledge of DoD organizations, culture, and processes. Possession of excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience coordinating complex projects Preferred: 7+ Years of experience in DoD (preferably Pentagon or National Guard Bureau) correspondence and support processes Project Management experience Demonstrated organizational skills using programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and/or Power BI Superior executive level oral and written communication skills Familiarity with National Guard programs and policies Estimated Salary/Wage USD $132,000.00/Yr.
