Assignments typically involve performing policy development, analysis, and review of issues. Work can have significant broad effects. Responsibilities include gathering, organizing, analyzing and verifying information; develops solutions which identify issues and recommend options to operational changes; works with members of multiple disciplines.
Stays up to date on state and federal health insurance regulations and can operationalize the requirements back into the business in an easy-to-understand way. Responsible for managing processes to keep projects moving forward to completion or next review. Creates benefit documents with rigorous change control processes for final document submission for State and Federal product filing approval. Understands regulatory requirements while being able to apply operational know-how to meet the needs of the business.
Facilitates planning and leading cross-functional team meetings to execute policy requirements. Responsible for plan documents, document preparation, information management, file maintenance, and coordination of tasks across multiple areas of understanding. Understands how to achieve a balance between regulatory concerns and product functionality. Much of the position is demanding, fast-paced, dynamically structured, high-stress position in a constantly changing environment.
Must understand all aspects of health insurance products to be able to apply regulations and policies appropriately. Explains regulations, policies and/or procedures in common vernacular for clear understanding among staff. Displays accuracy and attention to detail when working with constantly changing data. Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics and ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects. Will also undertake special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.Experience in one of the following is preferred: Public Policy, Health Policy, Political Science, Business or Business Law
