CEC Entertainment, the global leader in family entertainment and operator of Chuck E. Cheese and Peter Piper restaurants, is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to join our team. This position is based at our Corporate Support Center in Irving, TX.
Join our collaborative and engaging team where your data skills will play a key role in turning raw data into actionable insights. Our Power BI developers play a crucial role in propelling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to design effective business intelligence solutions using your Power BI expertise and Power Apps development skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Communication and Collaboration Collaborate with senior management, department leaders, and stakeholders to translate their business questions into metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) on actionable dashboards and reports that measure progress and success against business goals. Democratize data and analytics across the organization providing education and support to ensure effective use of data, BI tools, and reports fostering a data-driven decision-making culture. Share data findings and recommendations with department leaders and stakeholders concisely, translating technical jargon into business language. Advocate for the latest features and best practices in Power BI, Azure, and data analytics. Power Apps Design consistent, easily understandable, and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Power BI tools to present actionable business insights. Develop intuitive workflows using Power Apps to automate critical business processes and streamline operations. Create seamless data connections between Power BI reports and Power Apps to deliver actionable insights directly to users. Design user-friendly mobile and desktop interfaces that enhance user adoption and drive increased value from dashboards and reports. Data Modeling and Preparation Analyze and evaluate data in the data lake, lake house, and data warehouse environments to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Develop new pipelines, extract and analyze raw data from various internal and vendor sources (including databases, files, spreadsheets, APIs and web services) into the data lake. Transform raw data into clean and consistent datasets ensuring data accuracy and completeness delivering a usable lake house, and/or data mart. Working with the business subject matter experts (SME) and the Data and Analytics team, establish and maintain data dictionary documentation and reporting standards. Work with data owners and cross-functional teams to implement and enforce data governance policies. Share and implement industry best practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and security within the organization. Work closely with other IT professionals to manage infrastructure costs and ensure data security from external threats. Create and maintain documentation for BI solutions, including technical specifications, user guides, and best practices. Education & Work Experience Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent knowledge from an accredited university or equivalent work experience. Microsoft certifications in Power Platform (such as Power Apps, Power Automate, or Power BI) are highly desirable. 3+ years of experience delivering Microsoft Power BI Solutions using Azure Synapse, data lake, lake house, data warehouse and data mart technologies. Proven experience with data modeling, dimensional modeling , data profiling, data storytelling, creating logical and physical data models, BI modelling, complex measures, complex reports using visualizations available with Power BI, and security models for shared reports. Experience with agile delivery processes and scrum ceremonies. Certification desired. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, building and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the humility to ask for help when needed. Clear and effective written and oral communications. High attention to detail and accuracy. Tools and Technologies DAX, DAX Studio, MDX, Power BI visualizations PowerApps and Power Automate Microsoft SQL Server tools and languages including efficient complex TSQL queries and manipulate data effectively using SSAS, SSMS, SSIS, Tabular Editor. Power Query with MS Excel (Power Pivot) and visualization tools. GIT Source Control for Power BI objects Azure DevOps and Visual StudioPhysical Demands
To perform the duties of this position, the incumbent must have the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, reach, and carry, lift, pull, push between 1 – 25 lbs. Incumbent must use a computer, with the repetitive movement of both hands. Incumbent must be able to work an 8-hour shift, with some overtime. Incumbent must also be available to travel to various locations by airplane or by operating a vehicle if needed.
