**Job Description** (Hybrid - Multiple positions available)Are you a Power Engineer with 6 to 8 years of experience in power electronics looking for the next step to grow your career? Do you want to design and architect solutions for the Aircraft Electrification market. The Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) business is experiencing unprecedented growth. Work on packaging Li-ion and other chemistry cells to provide solutions for the AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) and fixed wing aircraft solutions. Support manufacturing operations and automated production tests. Mitigate issues related to supplier management and component quality. Execute reliability engineering activities such as: FMEA, stress analysis, tolerance analysis, etc. This role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work and will take the form of a hybrid work schedule, with time split between working onsite and remotely. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 6 years of experience in power electronics related design and development, including familiarity with motor drives, gate drivers, analog circuitry, and magnetics. Hands-on experience with the understanding of full product development lifecycle of electronics hardware and design, component and system-level integration, validation, and verification. Ability to work with software and firmware controllers for converters and power distribution systems. Experience with rotating machine control and design for EMC/ EMI compliance. Pre-existing knowledge of magnetic design for high frequency applications and soft switching techniques. Experience with AC-DC converters and power factor correction. Experience with DC-DC topologies and ability to select optimal architectures and components. Experience with digital control strategies for AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion. Must have experience working safely in a high voltage / high power lab environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs and projects. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of BAE. Experience in modeling, simulation, and testing of power electronics: SPICE/ LTSPICE, Mathcad, Matlab/Simulink, Ansys Electronic desktops. Experience in providing technical leadership and mentoring. Capable of creating required documentation, requirements, test plans and engineering Highly organized team player with excellent technical communication skills (written and verbal). **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** Master s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience with design of DC-DC converters and motor drives with power levels of up to 500kW and DC link voltages to 1000V. Experience with Power Magnetics Design and electromagnetic concepts. Understanding of design for fault tolerance and reliability. Ability to perform stress/deratings analysis and worst-case circuit analysis. Ability to create interface definition, specification, and control documents. Plan and conduct tests and analysis, review and interpret data. Experience in a safety conscious high voltage/ high power laboratory including testing such as: hi-pot, thermal cycling and partial discharge. Knowledgeable of multiple types of rotating machines such as: PMSM, IPM and AC induction. Knowledgeable with Vector and Field Oriented Control. Demonstrated leadership abilities to lead working groups or program teams. Software Skills: Matlab/Simulink, ANSYS Maxwell. Experience with Requirements Management tools and Configuration Management and Problem Reporting tools. Ability to apply critical thinking in complex situations; experience working in cross functional research groups including mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, test, reliability, and failure analysis. Demonstrated ability to engage technology developers in the industry to track and apply emerging technologies to innovative power electronics designs. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $102200 - $173700 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
