Senior Pricing and Project Analyst
Summary We are seeking a Senior Pricing and Project Analyst to join our team and serve as an internal consultant for the DIY pricing and promotions teams and merchandising department. This role will liaise with IT, Commercial, and Marketing departments to support pricing systems, processes, analyses, and reporting. Your efforts will ensure accurate price execution across new item pricing, everyday pricing, pricing tests, and markdowns. You'll lead innovation initiatives and use data-driven analytics to strengthen pricing strategy. Additionally, you'll support DIY Pricing teams with market analysis, system optimization, and forecasting, while assisting Category Management with competitive intelligence and data mining. We are looking for a self-driven individual with strong analytical and interpersonal skills and solid business acumen. Responsibilities + Support DIY Pricing Analysts: Conduct in-depth training, develop actionable reporting, and ensure pricing compliance. + Competitive Price Analysis: Provide insights to category managers to align strategies with business objectives. + Lead Projects: Create detailed project plans and roadmaps to drive process improvements and innovations. + Best Practices: Establish and review best practices for the team. + Enterprise-Level Price Optimization: Analyze to ensure consistency in pricing best practices. + Profitability and Sales Boosting: Identify and present opportunities through pricing initiatives. + Data-Driven Analytics: Assess marketplace and competitive data to align pricing strategies with chain and store-specific zones. + Monitor Pricing Activities: Develop reports to highlight pricing and competitive trends. + Evaluate Pricing Changes: Ensure alignment with company expectations and approved pricing philosophies. + Mentorship: Mentor and support team members. + Issue Resolution: Resolve issues through data analysis and reporting. Supervisory Responsibilities + Objective Setting: Set objectives and long-range goals. + Performance Standards: Identify team performance standards. + Coaching and Feedback: Provide coaching and feedback to build an effective team. + Workload Management: Direct workload for a team of analysts at the Business and Technology Store Support Center. Requirements + Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or comparable field (preferred). + Experience: Seven years or more of experience in Business Administration, Price Optimization, Statistics, Engineering, or Merchandising related responsibilities (preferred). + Skills and Knowledge: + Activity-based costing, factor analysis, microeconomics, statistical process control, business process analysis, continuous improvement, business modeling (linear regression, experiments, time series forecasting). + Understanding of database structures and query writing skills; SAS or Google Big Query knowledge is a plus. + Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and the ability to lead and contribute to multiple teams inside and outside the department.
