Job Description

Welcome! As a Thin Films Equipment Engineer at Micron in our Technology Development Group, you will be responsible for working with process engineering define and maintain hardware modifications to support and improve new and existing processes. In this position, you will provide equipment support of R&D Thin Films CVD/Metal Development efforts and provide ownership for equipment development & related tool issues for specific films/processes. You will also drive chamber analytical analysis through various instrumental analysis techniques.

Preferred that Successful candidates for this position have the following skills and experience:

10+ years’ experience working on vacuum-based deposition equipment in a R&D or High-Volume ManufacturingHands-on experience with ULVAC ENTRON, AMAT ENDURA or CANON PVD Platforms that includes tool installation/de-facilitation and Maintenance. (2+ yrs. preferred)In Depth knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE)Drive Innovative Ideas to completion; from research phase to implementation phaseUnderstand the principles of Thin Films CVD/PVD plasma processing and have a basic understanding of plasma sources used in industrial Semiconductor plasma reactorsIn-depth understanding of plasma physics, Thin Films CVD/PVD and plasma processing equipmentStrong analytical/problem solving skills to include interpreting analytical resultsStrong semiconductor equipment knowledge, including electronics, pneumatics, plumbing (gas and/or liquid), thermal control, vacuum, mechanical, RF/DCProvide hardware technical support to include SOV (Source of Variation) issues the process development staff.Tactical ownership of First-To-Micron Thin Film tool sets.Implement and manage characterization program of new tools, identify and close any hardware and procedural gapsDrive and manage vendor execution to meet timelines.Complete project landmarks - close hardware gaps before transfer to ManufacturingWork with Facilities Engineering, trades, Safety and vendors to support assigned projects.Collaborate with area engineers on issues; and prioritize your assigned workload.Ability to coordinate, installation, maintenance, documentation, and modifications for R&D 300mm Thin Films CVD equipment.Possess good communication skills and ability to summarize the plans and progress of existing experimental work and provide documentation in the form a written report.Good multi-tasking skills, work both independently and in a group environmentMust be a self-motivated teammate and be adaptable to Micron's changing needs including working extended hours if required.Must promote a safe work environment and follow safety guidelines.Mentor other equipment technicians and engineers.Effective project management skills achieving goals and timelines.Ability to work in a fast-changing environment with the ability to adapt and embrace change.

Education: 

PhD or Master's Degree. Education in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
