About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Seismic Hazard Assessment Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in assessing seismic hazards for various projects, including infrastructure development, nuclear power plants, and critical facilities. Your expertise in Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA) will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and resilience of these projects.

Key Responsibilities\:

Conduct and/or manage all steps in a comprehensive PSHA study, including seismic catalogue compilation and analysis, seismic-source model development, ground motion modelling, site response analysis, probabilistic and deterministic hazard calculation. Work with the wider Earth & Environment team to support and utilise the results from Capable Faulting Studies. Propose methods to quantify epistemic uncertainty in a seismic hazard framework and propagate them through engineering analyses. Propose acquisition and monitoring parameters and comment on the response efficiency of seismic networks. Develop and apply attenuation functions from site ground motion data to estimate ground motion parameters (kappa, F0). Calculate seismic hazard curves and ground motion maps for various return periods. Collaborate with geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, and other specialists to integrate seismic hazard assessments into soil-structure interfaces and ultimately project designs. Stay updated on the latest advancements in seismic hazard analysis methodologies and tools. Prepare clear and concise technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to clients and project teams. *
