Overview

About the Role: We are seeking a (Senior - Principal) Product Manager who will be responsible for lifecycle growth: helping new and existing customers find more value on Instacart’s marketplace, through the envisioning and development of compelling user experiences. This role will be responsible for determining when, where, and how to encourage users to try our best features– from helping new users trust us for fresh food delivery, sign up for our IC+ membership, and create a family account, to helping existing users find reasons to order more often. The PM will use a range of tools to achieve these goals– from incentives and gamification to new user education, both in our app and via channels like email and push. The PM will be supported by engineering, design, data science, and marketing resources. 

About the Team - Instacart’s Growth Experiences Product team is responsible for driving more user engagement on our platform via the ideation and delivery of delightful consumer experiences. The team owns lifecycle growth (helping users adopt new habits on our platform), feature adoption (e.g. membership in our IC+ subscription program, creation of family and group orders, linkage of retailer loyalty benefits), restaurant growth, and partnership experiences.

About the Job 

Use data-driven insights to postulate what types of experiences may be most compelling, to which users, to help those users to find value on Instacart. What offerings and opportunities do users not yet know about? What anxieties do they have that we might remove? Work with marketing, design, and engineering to envision  your experience and bring it to life– what exactly should it look like? Test, analyze, and iterate – what worked and what didn’t?Maintain a portfolio and drumbeat of experimentation– knowing that not all tests will work, but that with good insights and enough “shots on goal,” value will follow

About You

Minimum Qualifications

8+ years of product management or similar experience Strong project management skills- running (ideally many) high velocity/ scrappy experiments against a number of data-driven themes Strong XFN communication- can help design, engineering, marketing, leadership understand your “insight—> action—> impact” hypothesis and what you’re asking them to build/ support/ approve Strong ability to generate insights from data- asks the right questions of Data Science, can use data to identify white space or opportunity areas, can lead ideation against those areas Ability to inspect proposed consumer experiences using intuition—> Are the right messages coming across? Are we making it easy and simple for consumers to take action, and to reassure them that they’re getting the benefits they were promised for taking those actions? Are the stated benefits compelling? Are we being thoughtful about when and where we’re inserting friction?

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a growth-oriented role, envisioning or evaluating consumer-facing experiences
