Senior Principal Program Manager

Job Summary:

 

As Senior Principal Program Manager, you will be responsible for the performance of one or multiple programs within the Sensor Solutions line of business, part of Mercury’s Integrated Processing Solutions business unit.  This role requires a broad understanding of all aspects of a program lifecycle, from new development to production as well as in-service support. Customer-facing, you will have great business acumen, making judicious decisions to achieve customer satisfaction and meet delivery commitments.

 

In this role, you have the opportunity to lead highly diverse cross functional teams composed of engineering, operations, mission assurance, contracts, finance, and growth, to develop next-generation mission critical solutions.

 

Job Responsibility:

Execute complex program(s) to scope, schedule, cost, and quality over their full lifecycle. Develop and manage resource-loaded integrated master schedule (IMS) to ensure on-time delivery of deliverables (documentation and products). Own program financials including estimate at complete (EAC), revenue, margin and cash. Serve as primary customer point of contact, communicating transparently and professionally to manage all customer expectations. Partner with cross-functional integrated product team (IPT) to drive culture of collaboration and accountability. Perform risk and opportunity management, including definition and execution of mitigation and capture plans. Identify scope, control scope creep, and manage scope changes. Present status to the leadership team including reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs). Contribute to and lead process and tool improvements and deployment. Manage key and critical subcontractors, as required. Support proposals including schedules, basis of estimates (BOEs), compliance matrices, programmatic volume, and bid review material.

 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math), Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 10+ years experience with at least 6 years of direct program management experience. 3+ years Aerospace & Defense industry experience as a prime contractor or subcontractor. Experience with Microsoft Project. Ability to travel 10%. This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Degree. Knowledge of Government contracting practices and experience managing various contract types: FFP, FPIF, CPFF, T&M, etc. Earned Value Management (EVM) and standard program reporting metrics. New product introduction (NPI). Continuous improvement principles including Lean manufacturing, six sigma, etc. Prior leadership experience and ability to lead IPTs through ambiguity and short deadlines. Experience managing teams in a multi-site matrix organization. Working knowledge of Oracle, Cobra, PowerBI, and advanced Microsoft Excel tools. Active Secret Clearance.
