This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work as a project leader for a fast-paced, growing business, centered around our Cryptographic product line. 

 

The Core Technologies team is focused on enabling our nation's military personnel to execute their missions as safely and effectively as possible.  For them to do this effectively, they need technology that gets the right data to the right people at the right time, keeping them a step ahead of their adversaries.  We achieve this by implementing the latest security technologies, while adhering to rigorous certification standards. 

 

The Core Technologies team is responsible for leading the design, test, and certification of secure mission computers, cross domain guards, and cryptographic products which equip our warfighters to thrive in today’s multi-domain battlespace.   

This position is intended to operate locally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

  

What You Will Do:  

YOU will help Collins grow and mature our Crypto product line, ensuring we remain a sought after, industry leader, providing first-in-class solutions that address our customer’s most demanding field requirements for secure connectivity.

YOU will pursue and capture new business associated with our Cryptographic solutions.

YOU will create execution plans and lead a multi-disciplined team of engineers to develop Cryptographic solutions to meet our customers schedule, budget, and technical needs.

YOU will help create a collaborative team culture that drives predictable program performance to consistently meet business and customer commitments.

YOU will communicate effectively to a host of stakeholders across the technical and program spectrum, including customers, program management and senior leadership.

YOU will learn how we enable our armed services to be more effective against near peer threats and will lead the development team in creating secure connectivity solutions that enable our warfighters to maintain battlefield superiority.

YOU will grow your skills as a leader, working with a core enabling technology for Collins Aerospace and the aerospace industry as a whole.  

  

What You Will Learn:  

You will gain knowledge of Collins Aerospace products and how they enable our armed forces to work collaboratively with other branches of our own armed forces, and across our allied partners.

You will gain experience developing Cryptographic solutions and working with the NSA in certifying our designs.

You will have the opportunity to grow! Encryption is needed in many applications across platforms and environments, making this an emerging market with a huge growth potential. 

You will help our company to capture new market segments while maintaining our reputation as a top-tier supplier for this technology.  

  

 

Qualifications You Must Have:   

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.  

Experience with leading a team in the pursuit and capture of new business. 

Experience leading a team in the full product development lifecycle.  Including negotiating scope of work, project planning, overseeing requirements and architecture definition, design, integration, test, and verification - coordinating multiple disciplines coming together to create a full product .

Previous experience with bidding and bid review, as well as planning and managing project budget, schedule, and scope. 

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 

Previous experience leading teams in development of embedded products and product certification. 

 

Qualifications We Prefer:   

Familiarity with NSA requirements and working with the NSA on Type-1 certification.

Experience developing in the Agile framework.

Experience with SEER bid estimating methodology.

Preferred applicants will currently hold a Secret (or above) security clearance, or have held one within the past two years.

Ability to work through tough situations in a healthy and collaborative way.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
