The Battlefield, Command and Control and Maritime Systems (BC2MS) Department in Portsmouth, RI, primarily supports programs in the U.S. Navy’s undersea and surface domains including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration.
BC2MS and Advanced Technology (AT) Programs at Raytheon are seeking a Chief Engineer with expertise in system integration, acoustics and undersea vehicles, and with experience working with a large number and variety of suppliers.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Lead program throughout lifecycle, from program startup through requirements development, design, test and verification
Develop and mature architectures for undersea and sonar systems
Lead technical teams in areas related to undersea systems design, analysis, test and execution
Manage technical performance and interface across multiple disciplines
Manage risks and opportunities against the programmatic baseline
Work within program leadership team, including with the program manager, to ensure program success
Provide primary technical interface to Customers and key stakeholders
Communicate through oral presentations and written reports on program status, issues and success
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 7 of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 14 of relevant experience is required.
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
Past experience in a technical leadership role, e.g. Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, IPT Lead, etc.
Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management
Experience with undersea vehicles or sonar systems
Experience across a wide variety of program lifecycles
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
