As our next Integration & Test Lead Senior Principal Systems Engineer, you'll immerse yourself in integrating, verifying, and validating these multiple domain Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) mission systems solutions used on the aircraft and ground stations being developed for our military customers.

What YOU Will Do:

You will focus on customer needs through the entire program lifecycle to design, develop, integrate, and test both hardware and software solutions, ranging from black box to the complex end-to-end platform systems.  

You will be responsible for providing technical guidance to multidisciplined teams, leading effective working sessions, cultivating and reinforcing group values, and identifying, analyzing and correcting technical problems. 

You will be responsible for projects span the entire development lifecycle, including pursuit and order capture, trade study, system design, requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirement traceability, use case development for software/hardware, systems integration, verification testing and qualification. 

You will serve as an RF communications technology and systems engineering focal point for leadership and the customer for ISSE mission equipment packages/solutions 

You will apply SysML concepts for System Modeling across a full engineering lifecycle. 

You will lead engineers to understand, analyze, and develop the models, requirements, and designs using enterprise standard tools, processes, and industry best practices. 

You will contribute to technical proposal preparation and serve as a subject matter expert in non-advocate, internal and customer reviews

You will lead system integration and troubleshooting for complex embedded software applications, hardware, LRU’s, and system of systems environments.

You will ensure the development and management of technical risks and develop and execute mitigation plans

You will lead and advise engineering managers, program managers, business development managers, product line managers, and component architects

You will establish trusted and influential relationships with customers and suppliers

You will monitor cost and schedule and report project status to program management and engineering leadership. 

Qualifications YOU Must Have:

Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 12 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience.  In the absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required.

Demonstrated experience with system level design, integration, and test of RF equipment

Prior experience with any of the following: VLF, LF, HF, V/UHF, and Milsatcom

Embedded development including interface definition, requirements, and use case development

Experience with aircraft level system integration

Equipment installations and check-out

Development of integration and test plans, test cases, and procedures

Development and execution of product and system level tests to include experience with automation test tools or scripting

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools such as Magic Draw CAMEO, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect

Experience in technical proposal writing - Make/Buy Decision-making and trade study experience

Experience with bidding utilizing SEER tools

Development and execution of product and system level tests to include experience with automation test tools or scripting

Experience with regulatory and certification requirements: TSO, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178B/C, and ARP 4754

Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC 661 standard and bus protocols

Experience with NC3 system architecture development, and systems, software, and hardware engineering.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
