The Open Communication Systems (OCS) Team is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Systems Engineer in a role committed to creating creative and cost-effective solutions for our ground and airborne systems. As part of Collins Mission Systems, we specialize in developing advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, as well as providing integration of mission systems. As part of the OCS Organization, the Systems Engineering Department supports a variety of communications systems including phased array apertures for multi-band multi-constellation Beyond Line-of-Sight (BLOS) SATCOM and Line-of-Sight (LOS) antennas.
This position can be located in Fort Wayne, IN, Marlborough, MA or McKinney, TX. An active/current Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
What You Will Do:
Lead system trade studies, requirements analysis, architecture, allocation to subsystems
Manage problems and issues requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation
Oversee the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
Support development of test architectures and test plans
Act as a Subject Matter Expert within discipline with advanced to expert knowledge of work area
Manage medium to large-sized projects or processes
Work to influence within and outside of work area at an operational level regarding policies, practices,
and procedures within the organization
Coach and review the work of lower level professionals
Qualifications You Must Have:
Expert in tooling to include CAMEO, Rhapsody
Experience leading a team in requirements development and system architecture
Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
Experience with requirement management tools (eg; DOORS, DNG)
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
Agile working environment experience
Systems support to software and hardware development
System or application integration
Proposal support experience including writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
Experience in Communication Radio and Systems (including BLOS and LOS systems)
Knowledge of or application of Earned Value Management System

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
