Position Overview:

The Senior Analyst contributes to the success of Paylocity’s privacy program by identifying, assessing, and developing solutions to reduce risks as part of a comprehensive and growing data governance program within the Privacy Office. This role will work closely with stakeholders from across the organization to identify, catalog and protect Paylocity data, while minimizing risk and helping the data governance program to scale.


Responsibilities

Work closely with the Manager to advance the data governance and discovery roadmapProvide subject matter expertise on a variety of privacy-related programs, initiatives, and workflows Work closely with product, engineering, legal, compliance, and security teams to align privacy initiatives with broader company goals and industry standardsLead activities related to data mapping and data discovery, including keeping data mapping current, and continuing to automate discovery of data within our environmentOwn the data discovery workstream and tooling on a day-to-day basis, working with internal stakeholders to automate the data catalogProvide expertise on ways to continue the data governance and privacy automation journeysAssist with record retention and deletion program, including working with data stewards to execute the execute their responsibilitiesBuild and implement tools, frameworks, and guardrails for facilitating privacy best practicesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering, to embed privacy-by-design principles into product design and development, and business operationsEvaluate and optimize data collection and retention practices to minimize the data we collect and store while still meeting business needsDevelop and implement techniques to anonymize, pseudonymization, and deidentify dataContribute to privacy risk assessments of our code, UX, 3rd party tools to ensure compliance with applicable privacy regulations, contractual commitments, policies, and standardsConduct technical privacy assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential risks to personal informationCommunicate project progress, escalations, and issues to key stakeholders

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or related field of studyAt least 4 years of experience in a similar role focused on privacy engineering, privacy, data governance, or related fieldsIn-depth knowledge of privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.)Certifications in privacy or security (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, CISSP) are a plusExperience with different privacy frameworks, such as GAPP and NISTStrong understanding of engineering and cybersecurity principles and best practicesUnderstanding of programming languages and familiarity with database systems and data managementExperience with privacy-enhancing technologies and tools (e.g., differential privacy, encryption, tokenization, etc.)Ability to translate requirements into practical solutions and outcomesExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentStrong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersFamiliarity with Microsoft Purview, BigID, Informatica, Wiz, or other data discovery softwareFamiliarity with Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Atlan, or other data cataloging software

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $79,500- $147,600/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
