Senior Procedure Writer - Total Rewards Governance

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Procedure Writer to join our Total Rewards team. This role will be responsible for strengthening the control environment. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, a team first mindset, and acumen in relationship building to drive results.


In this role, you will:

Lead or participate in developing documentation or document publishing strategy, policy and guidelines

Participate in establishing web publication guidelines, conduct procedure audits and certifications, or manage procedure timeline and pipeline

Review and edit material authored by others

Design and develop technical project artifacts, manuals, technical presentations, technical training materials, and complex web content

Complete quality control assessments of the work performed by team

Recommend and document business procedures and best practices, identifying process gaps and offering alternatives

Serve as team lead or escalation point

Provide guidance to less experienced technical writers

Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Partner with clients to review audience and develop strategy to address technical documentation needs


Required Qualifications:

4+ years of Procedure Writing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

Intermediate knowledge of Open Text and other web-based content management.

Previous experience with control procedure writing and control policies.

Previous experience in Human Resources related systems such as Workday and Service Now.  

Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities

Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques.

Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment

Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

Experience researching, developing, writing, and editing operational procedures and documents

Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Ability to prepare correspondence; memorandum; reports; presentations or other assigned documentation.

Experience with analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.


Job Expectations:

Partner with subject matter professionals and control owners to understand business needs as it relates to control procedures.

Engage with business partners on large scale procedure publishing initiatives.

Recommend and document business procedures and best practices, identifying process gaps and offering alternatives ensuring compliance with the Internal Control Policy.

Create a periodic review of Total Rewards control procedures to ensure all required elements are included based on the Internal Control Policy.

Prep control owners and edit control procedures to ensure readiness with EBCE / IT&V testing

Collaborate globally with Control teams, independent risk management and audit to ensure effective responses are provided and potential risks and concerns are addressed.

Create, edit and format moderately complex to complex internal manuals, materials, control procedures, or other documentation related procedures and policies.

Review changes to business operations for potential impact to other documentation or resources.

Publish moderately complex web content according to standards.

Lead or participate in developing documentation or document publishing strategy, policy, and guidelines.

Complete quality control assessments of the work performed by the team.

Provide guidance to less experienced technical writers

Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Consult and make recommendations to business partners on optimization of procedures.

Review regulatory changes or partner with regulatory change agents to proactively identify required updates.

Maintain document library or repository and update tables in appropriate systems.

Utilize independent judgment to guide moderate risk deliverables

Commitment to deliver and sustain satisfactory levels of employee and customer experience.

Ability to prioritize and self-manage deliverables.

Ability to learn; possesses a high-level of intellectual curiosity.

Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening.
