Position overview:
We are seeking experienced Market Surveillance Analysts to join our team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of the financial markets, including various technical aspects, and have a keen eye for detail. This role is critical in monitoring market activities, ensuring compliance, and identifying any irregularities or unusual trading patterns.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Market Monitoring:
Continuously monitor trading activities and market data to detect any unusual patterns or potential market abuses.Utilize advanced analytics and surveillance tools to identify irregularities in trading behavior.Reviewing Trade surveillance alerts and conducting analysis of trading and market activity for asset class and programs such as Equities, Information barriers, Fixed income, Futures/ Options and Asset managementData Analysis:
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and potential compliance issues.Prepare detailed reports and present findings to management and regulatory bodies as required.Investigate market-moving events and create market color, conduct an analysis of the trading in the context of this market color, develop and support a recommendation.Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all market activities adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies.Stay updated with the latest regulations and industry standards, implementing necessary changes in surveillance processes.Technical Proficiency:
Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial instruments, trading platforms, and market dynamics.Utilize technical analysis and quantitative methods to assess market trends and trading activities.Proficiency with Bloomberg, Reuters and other market data tools and aptitude for research.Interested in capital markets, current events, and financial news.Communication:
Communicate findings and recommendations effectively through well-structured narratives and comprehensive write-ups.What You Will Need:
Master’s degree in finance, Economics, or a related field.Professional certifications such as CFA is advantageous.2-4 years’ experience in different product types such as fixed-income securities, equity options and other derivatives such as CDS and CFD.Proven experience in market surveillance, compliance, or a related role within financial services.Experience with reviewing trading activity for Compliance and familiarity with securities laws and regulations for identifying potential trading violations.An understanding of markets and potential market manipulative behavior and a demonstrated ability to conduct reviews relating to regional rules and regulations.What Would Be Nice To Have:
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.Proficiency in using surveillance and analytics tools.Advanced skills in English writing, comprehension, and reading, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports and analyses.
