About You and this Role In this role, you will serve as aSeniorProcess Automation SpecialistforDow's Sabine River Operationsfacility located inOrange, TX. You will be responsible for activities relating to the support of ABB and other process control systems within the site. Additionally, you will provide system troubleshooting support and preventative maintenance for the site installed base of ABB 800xA and Siemens PCS7 process control systems. The key objective is to minimize plant downtime caused by process automation system failures, while providing services that are cost effective and sustainable. We are strategically located in the heart of the Dow Gulf Coast sites. Our large site in the P&SP Business provides an opportunity to learn and deepen your skills across several technologies and processes. Responsibilities + Work independently providing care and troubleshooting of Siemens PCS7 and ABB 800xA process automation systems and their associated networks and interfaces. + Identify and manage Preventative Maintenance tasks and health checks for the systems that you support. + Provide corrective support in response to a Control system error condition or failure as the first point of escalation from the plant. This requires an on-going or frequent presence, rapid response, and a need to have hands-on interaction with the local environment (touch, view, or hear) in order to provide the needed services. + Complete project work including system installation, configuration, design, and development. This also includes participation in software and hardware upgrades. + Interface with plant personnel for troubleshooting, upgrade, and training activities. + Develop and follow through for Service Requests to resolve issues, working directly with process control vendors (e.g. Siemens, ABB etc.) as needed for escalation support. + Reporting of all significant system incidents, failures, and outages; participate in Root Cause Investigations and implement corrective actions. + Cyber Security Elements – user account access, manage/document group accounts, verify user access (remote and local) is accurate on a regular basis, ensure systems are compliant, etc. + Coordinate efforts with the global Process Automation organization to escalate needs, track issues, align approaches, and address the concerns of the business. + Monitor DCS system diagnostics for aligned site platforms. + Participate in risk assessments when activities to the Control System are required. Qualifications + A minimum of a bachelor’s degree OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking OR 10 years of relevant experience. + 3 or more years of relevant experience. + Prior experience working with Distributed Control Systems. + Willing and able to travel up to 10% annually. + Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations: Standing and walking for extended periods of time, climbing stairs, wear all required personal protective equipment, and use of basic hand tools. + Willing and able to support the facility on site during off hours. + A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Preferred Skills + A bachelor's degree in an engineering, computer science, or an IT discipline. + Prior experience in manufacturing, engineering, process automation, Information Technology, or related experience. + Siemens PCS7 OR ABB 800xA distributed control systems software and hardware. + Skilled at troubleshooting network architecture and Distributed Control Systems. + Ensuring a safe work environment by working safely and complying with environmental, health and safety standards. + Knowledge of computers and proficiency in using them: current hardware, operating systems, networking systems, and system software. + The ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities through strong troubleshooting, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills. + Demonstrating competencies in the areas of leadership, initiative, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal effectiveness. + Strong work ethic and being able to remain productive in an empowered team environment.
