RBC Insurance Technology is seeking to hire a Senior Process Automation Specialist for its Insurance Technology Platform Support team. The Insurance Technology Platform Support Team is a specialized unit dedicated to ensuring the optimal performance, availability, and resilience of IT applications used in the insurance line of business. With a unique blend of technical expertise and industry-specific knowledge, this team plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operations of digital services that cater to both the business's internal and external stakeholders.
The Senior Process Automation Specialist is Team Lead for the Process Analysts team within the Insurance Technology Platform Support - Operations Management Team, driving automation initiatives, optimizing workflows, and enhancing operational efficiency. This role will focus on identifying opportunities for automation, implementing process improvements, and ensuring seamless integration of automation solutions across operations, SRE, and operations management teams. The Senior Process Automation Specialist will lead strategic automation projects, mentor process analysts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize operations using tools such as Ansible, ServiceNow, Jira, and ML\\AI-driven automation frameworks.
What will you do?
Lead and mentor the Process Analysts team, providing guidance on best practices in process automation and operational efficiency.Define team goals, ensure alignment with organizational priorities, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.Oversee process documentation, automation roadmaps, and reporting to senior leadership.Identify and implement end-to-end process automation solutions to streamline IT operations, ticket management.Drive adoption of automation tools such as Ansible, Python scripting, ServiceNow automation, and machine learning-based optimizations.Optimize Jira workflows, dashboards, and automation rules to improve work tracking and reporting efficiency.Lead ServiceNow workflow automation initiatives, including automated ticket triaging, SLA tracking, and request fulfillment improvements.Partner with SRE and Operations teams to enhance reliability and efficiency through process automation.Drive Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) adoption, leading efforts to onboard new applications and teams.Spearhead process improvements for Enterprise and In-house automation product adoption, ensuring efficient integration and utilization.Work with cross-functional teams, including Infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, IT Operations, and Business Units, to align automation initiatives with business needs.Collaborate with leadership to define KPIs and success metrics for automation projects and continuous improvement efforts.Maintain proper documentation for all automated workflows, ensuring audit readiness and transparency.Identify and mitigate risks associated with automation changes and new tool integrations.Analyze data trends and patterns to support process improvement initiatives.Identify cost-saving opportunities through process automation and efficiency improvements.Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports that provide insights into operational performance.Must-have:
5+ years of experience in process automation, IT operations, or workflow optimization roles, with at least 1 year of leadership experience.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fieldITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent experience in ITSM practices.Proven expertise in automation tools such as Ansible, Python scripting, Terraform, ServiceNow, and Jira automation.Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM), ITIL best practices, and incident/change management.Experience in driving enterprise-wide automation adoption and managing large-scale automation initiatives.Nice-to-have:
Insurance industry experienceServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) or ServiceNow System Administrator Certification.Ansible Automation Platform Certification.Agile or Scrum certification (Certified ScrumMaster).AI/ML or RPA certifications related to intelligent automation.Soft Skills:
Strong leadership skills to guide and develop the Process Analysts team.Technical expertise in automation frameworks and scripting for workflow optimization.Problem-solving mindset with experience in root cause analysis and process redesign.Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to drive collaboration across teams.Data-driven approach to measuring and reporting automation impact.Strong communication and documentation skills to ensure process transparency and knowledge sharing.What’s in it for you?
