The chemical production facility in Geel is part of the Johnson Johnson Innovative Medicines Supply Chain organization and is the largest manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and spray dried powders (SDP) within the network and our API Launch and Grow site. The APIs/SDPs we manufacture are sent for further processing through pharmaceutical production into tablets, ointments, syrups, and other formulations, which are distributed to our patients around the globe.
The NPI Senior Process Engineer will become member of the MSAT Small Molecule Drug Substance NPI (SM DS NPI) team who are responsible for supporting New Product Introductions (NPI), handle product transfers, support process validation and improvements and deploy standard/new technologies. They will represent MSAT as part of multi-functional teams. The focus will be supporting the new product portfolio as well as building knowledge on new technologies. Working in partnership with multifunctional groups and collaboration with the business across departments is a crucial aspect to this role. Solid understanding of chemical synthesis and API manufacturing and knowledge of process technology is required. Experience with introduction of APIs to manufacturing sites or global technology transfers or introducing new technologies is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:Leading/supporting your own projects within the NPI portfolio or product tech transfers. Technical and manufacturing integration of new products into the commercial manufacturing site Geel.(Co-)leading the manufacturing site team, collaborate with global MSAT functions and RD, support plant readiness and execution (e.g. tech transfer implementation, site-based documentation, process validation, risk management, campaign prep and follow-up, support in process-related quality investigations, …).Find opportunities to increase process efficiency, promote and implement innovative initiatives for process optimizations.Gain expertise in current equipment capabilities and new process technologies linked with new products, from a process viewpoint. Be contributor to drive technological vision.Contribution, review and approval of API technical documents (e.g. protocols, reports, submissions, criticality analysis, control strategies, etc.).Technical support on any regulatory audits and inspections.Build knowledge as a process engineer and integrate this knowledge into the organization. Provides comprehensive process advice.
