Senior Procurement Business Partner is responsible for the procurement activities necessary to support the smooth operations of the internal manufacturing site within the Biologics Operating Unit.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior Procurement Business Partner you are the key contact to translate the requirements of business requestor to Procurement activities, providing appropriate challenges to demand or specification where relevant. You will ensure the correct balance of resources is utilized to deliver projects, and as such be able to deliver best-in-class procurement support to the organization. This is a hands-on role, where you will be engaged in conducting RFPs, negotiating contracts, and lead supplier relationship management meetings.  You will also manage compliance with procurement responsibilities in line with local business requirements, with a focus on meeting the agreed local business. 


RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The Senior Procurement Business Partner holds responsibilities and accountabilities in 9 key areas:

5. Supplier Relationship management
6. Procurement Alignment
7. Sourcing
8. Compliance
9. Staff development (one direct report)

You will:
•    Collaborate with the Global Manufacturing site management team and other key functions, including Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Warehouse, while upholding Takeda’s code of conduct and ethics.
•    Ensure compliance with procurement responsibilities by aligning with local business requirements and facilitating the provision of goods and services from external suppliers.
•    Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, pricing agreements, issue resolution, project oversight, and performance reporting.
•    Guarantee supply continuity, reliability, and risk mitigation.
•    Handle local spend categories, ad-hoc purchases, e-sourcing, and transactional contracting. Convert global contracts into local agreements and support their implementation.
•    Supervise one direct report.
•    Collaborate with divisional and corporate procurement teams to co-develop and leverage category strategies.
•    Drive savings opportunities, economies of scale, risk mitigation, supplier collaboration, and alignment with divisional and corporate goals, metrics, and processes.


Required Education, Behavioural Competencies and Skills: 
•    Educated to degree level, preferably in a business-related field.
•    10 years of relevant Sourcing & Procurement experience with experience in supporting cost reduction projects, value improvement programs, basic contracting, eSourcing and spot buying, preferably in a biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
•    Demonstrated understanding of some or the entire major spend categories and potential cost levers or market fundamentals.
•    Experience or demonstrated understanding in Category Management principles and frameworks and the development of sourcing strategies
•    Proven Financial and Business Acumen (e.g. TCO, TEI, NPV & Cost Modeling)
•    Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multi-project and multi-product manufacturing industry.
•    Experience in providing customer support over multiple countries.
•    Experience or knowledge of offshore or shared service operating environments.
•    Expert proficiency in basic MS Office© software.

Preferred:
•    Post-graduate business-related qualification
•    Demonstrated ability in collating, organizing, analyzing and reporting complex financial data with solid grounding in basic procurement and financial processes and systems.
•    Pharmaceutical Industry or Management Consulting experience
•    Any Professional Purchasing (e.g. CIPS) or Finance related licenses or certifications would be considered advantageous
•    French language skills
