Senior Manager, Sourcing – Tech & Ops Procurement
What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Sourcing will provide Procurement support for the RBC T&O platform while influencing sourcing decisions, driving supplier consolidation, cost savings and cost avoidance efforts.
This role will partner with senior management to proactively develop negotiation and contract strategies for high risk/complex and sensitive sourcing initiatives.
The incumbent will gather and analyse data to create playbooks and strategies to support the different business models for services contemplated or currently under contract and prepare findings for senior management; as well as develop and negotiate complex (strategically critical, high value, or high risk) contract strategies that will provide cost effective, sustainable solutions to RBC businesses, and optimising total value generated from RBC’s supplier base.
**Please note that the preferred location for this position is London, UK. This role requires a hybrid working arrangement of approx. 3 days/week in the office**
What will you do?
Negotiate complex supplier contracts, supports business groups in managing supplier contracts and relationships and drafts and makes necessary amendments to current contracts as necessary
Create plans to identify or recommend alternative suppliers against the sourcing execution plan, to maximise service levels and procurement activities and create alignment to long-term business strategies
Develops and implements global efficiencies, standardised tools, practices and procedures, RFP, new supplier and decision-making evaluations
Build effective and strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders (including executive level) by understanding key needs and dynamics across stakeholder groups, decision makers and influencers
Secures stakeholder support for complex decisions (e.g. unpopular, high-risk, contentious)
Identify, research and prioritise possible sourcing opportunities through internal spend analysis, knowledge of business unit, potential savings and/or business need
Provide mentoring, coaching to help develop skills and abilities of team members to optimise future job performance
Analyses complex procurement challenges and assist in developing solutions to best meet business needs.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Post-secondary education
Extensive experience in global procurement, sourcing and relationship management
Experience in leading and supporting stakeholder interactions/relationships
Core expertise in IT sourcing categories including software, professional services, outsourcing, enterprise applications
A proven track record of leading deals and negotiating agreements with ‘mega-vendors’
Understanding of procurement law and/or regulations
Excellent communications skills (verbal and written).
Nice-to-have
Related Purchasing field or Procurement Designation
Strong contract acumen
Strong analytical skills.
