Senior Product Counsel

As Senior Product Counsel at Cvent, you will play a pivotal role in providing legal guidance and support throughout the product development lifecycle, for both our Event Cloud and Hospitality Cloud products and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, sales, marketing, and compliance, to ensure our products and services meet regulatory requirements and align with our business objectives. Every day will bring new challenges as you help the team support the company’s growth and innovation. We are relying on you to stay organized and project manage multiple projects simultaneously. In This Role, You Will: Provide strategic legal advice on product development, launch, and lifecycle management Collaborate with product teams to identify and mitigate legal risks associated with new and existing products Work closely with other members of the legal team - across litigation, commercial, employment, and privacy - as well as our partner law firms to ensure your business partners receive holistic and effective legal guidance across disciplines Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property, including patents and trademarks Review and negotiate license agreements Monitor and maintain awareness of, and ensure compliance with, relevant laws, regulations and industry trends, including data privacy and cybersecurity, digital marketing, intellectual property and AI Engage with Cvent’s Technology team to ensure compliance with data security requirements enforced by various jurisdictions and customers Conduct legal risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies. Draft and review product-related documentation and formulate terms of service, product exhibits and policies Support the resolution of product-related disputes and manage litigation risks Develop and deliver training to internal teams on product and IP legal and regulatory matters Assist with M&A transactions, including legal technology/IP diligence Assist the General Counsel in managing IP and product-related litigation and other claims or disputes Here's What You Need: J.D. degree from an accredited, top tier law school Admission to a State Bar, and in good standing with the Bar association Minimum 6+ years’ experience as an IP, technology and/or SaaS product counsel, at a law firm or combination of law firm and in-house Strong understanding of intellectual property, data privacy, and AI laws, regulations and best practices Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing legal issues early in the product development lifecycle Working knowledge and experience with commercial contract terms and conditions with particular emphasis on the protection of intellectual property and minimizing liabilities and risks Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills Self-starter who understands executing with urgency. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential requirements for this position Strong multitasking skills to be able to move and track multiple projects to completion, including the ability to manage a high volume of requests from a wide range of client teams and balancing competing priorities with limited direction Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and able to work well with and across teams, including software developers, engineers, architects, and product managers Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with all levels of management Software engineering or SaaS product management background preferred Experience with events technology or hospitality is a plus Physical Demands We are not able to offer sponsorship for this position
