Our aftermarket division within the Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro (GBP) Business Line for Bulk Material Handling (BMH) is growing, and we are actively seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer who is highly skilled in mechanical design and has a keen interest in mining equipment.

 

This position is mainly located in York, Pennsylvania but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

 

Your role:


As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll be an important part of our GBP BMH Product Engineering team. You’ll work on a variety of essential equipment, including Apron Feeders, Belt Feeders, Rotary Car Dumpers, Conveyor Belts, Bucketwheel Stacker Reclaimers, and more. Your role will involve supporting global design projects, handling equipment breakdowns, and collaborating closely with our Field Service Team to ensure top-notch maintenance and upgrades.

 

What you’ll do:

 

Innovative Design & Development: Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems for bulk material handling equipment. Ensure our designs meet the highest performance, safety, and quality standards. Manage multiple projects from concept to completion. Aftermarket Quality: Work with our global GBP Engineering team to enhance and extend the life of existing equipment through upgrades, modifications, and repairs. Field Service Collaboration: Provide expert design and technical support during equipment breakdowns, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance. Global Teamwork: Collaborate with a diverse, international team of engineers and designers, contributing to global projects and maintaining quality in design practices. Technical Expertise: Offer guidance to internal teams and customers, solving complex design challenges and providing innovative solutions in real-time. Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all design documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and compliant with industry standards.

 

Who you are:

 

Bachelor’s/Technology degree in Mechanical Design or a related field. Skilled in mechanical design, specifically in bulk material handling equipment within the mining industry. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor) with a deep understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience in diagnosing and solving equipment breakdowns quickly and effectively. In-depth understanding of equipment like Apron Feeders, Belt Feeders, Rotary Car Dumpers, and more. Ability to navigate and collaborate across cultures and regions. Strong analytical skills and a creative approach to overcoming design challenges.
