Senior Product Development Engineer

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
•    Engineer the design and development of neurological access and neurosurgical devices.
•    Experience with EUMDR remediation of medical devices
•    Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams, external suppliers, and neurosurgeons.  
•    Prioritize and manage one or more projects and corresponding tasks from concept to launch.  
•    Resolve technical issues by applying theoretical and practical engineering discipline.
•    Coach, mentor, and delegate work to less experienced engineering personnel and support staff.  
•    Perform data analysis using statistical techniques to verify product characteristics.  
•    Prepare test protocols and reports, drawings, technical specifications, and change orders.  
•    Comply with internal SOPs and Design Control requirements.  
•    Take ownership of assignments given by product development leadership.
Qualifications:
•    B.S. required in engineering or scientific discipline with minimum 5 years relevant experience; M.S. with minimum 3 years relevant experience; Ph.D. with 0-2 years relevant experience in medical device or similar market segment.  Mechanical or biomedical engineering preferred.    
•    Demonstrated mechanical skills.
•    Proficiency with CAD software such as Solidworks or Onshape is a plus.
•    Experience with fabrication and 3D printing techniques is a plus.
•    Proficiency applying dimensioning and tolerancing drafting standards. 
•    Hands-on building and testing of prototype designs and engineering builds. 
•    Strong understanding of medical device regulations and industry standards.  
•    Demonstrated organizational and project management skills. 
•    Proficiency in data analysis software such as Minitab.
•    Proficiency in Risk Management (Use, Design, and Process FMEA)
•    Experience working with process development and operations.  
•    Professional communication skills, verbal and written.
•    Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
