Senior Product Engineer
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and four years of related experience.
• Technical – Must possess a familiarity with driveline manufacturing and assembly operations. Capable of producing component and assembly drawings and reading blueprints. Experience with solid modeling programs such as Pro-E, Unigraphics, IDEAs, Catia, or SolidWorks.
• Communication – Must possess good verbal and written skills as there will be extensive customer, sales, and manufacturing personnel contact. The ability to communicate effectively within a group or team. Must be able to articulate precise instructions and effectively transfer information.
• Analytical – Ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Problem Solving – Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Take on a lead role on projects without supervision.
• Delegate work to supporting product engineers.
• Design engine assemblies and components to meet customer requirements.
• Perform project duties as outlined in the APQP procedure.
• Lead development of drawings and specifications.
• Work with material expert on material selection.
• Work with test technicians and quality engineers on developing requirements and test procedures.
• Recognize and resolve technical difficulties associated with projects prior to production.
• Assist manufacturing facilities in developing processes through Advance Quality Planning.
• Communicate with manufacturing personnel to assist in the production launch issues.
• Keep records and transmit information between customers and other stakeholders.
• Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures (i.e. Quality System Procedures).
