Job Title: Senior Product Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Product Engineer to lead the technical development and implementation of new materials and processes for an innovative product in the window industry. This role involves working closely with our joint venture partner in Denmark, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to develop and scale production processes from pilot phase to commercialization.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement new materials and processes.Create development strategies and methodologies utilizing design of experiments.Oversee prototyping and testing of new materials and designs, including interpretation of test results.Interface with vendors and external knowledge sources, or utilize internal capabilities to create and test new materials.Develop test equipment and methods to evaluate new materials and product designs.Conduct statistical analysis to develop experimental conclusions and provide recommendations to senior leaders.Evaluate material selection, cost analysis, and vendors to implement new designs.Partner with production to implement and support product and process improvements.Develop and scale-up manufacturing processes and equipment.Travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.Essential SkillsExperience in new product development and full product life cycle development (prototype to production).Manufacturing and process development experience.Mechanical design, process improvement, and continuous improvement skills.Engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Experience with product development and design.Diverse knowledge of manufacturing processes.Experience innovating processing techniques and equipment design.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience developing and scaling processes and concepts through pilot and commercialization.Flexibility on the type of products developed in the past, with a strong focus on R&D and production launch.Strong problem-solving skills to overcome potential bottlenecks during production scale-up.Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position located at the production facility in Carleton. The role involves partnering with production teams and presenting to senior leaders, as well as collaborating with PhD scientists and equipment operators. The position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel, primarily to Denmark, especially during the first year. Some flexibility to work remotely when necessary is available, but the primary expectation is on-site presence.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
