We seek a results-driven Senior Product Manager specializing in Technical SEO to join our team. This role will focus on optimizing organic search performance and managing websites with over 50 million URLs.
The ideal candidate excels at using data to set priorities and measure outcomes, understands customer needs, and stays ahead of SEO industry trends.About You:You are a highly organized, customer-centric Senior Product Manager with experience in SEO. You love reading and want to help more people discover Scribd’s unique offering on Google.You excel at clarifying and simplifying complex concepts and ideas, with the ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders with varying degrees of knowledge of your domain.You view your role as a cross-functional partner. You understand that your work doesn’t stop after requirements are written, and you work with your team through execution.You don’t differentiate between SEO experiences for bots vs. users - understanding that anything you put on a page has user impact. You will:Own the SEO product roadmap, balancing technical improvements with content opportunities.Oversee and manage the technical aspects of our SEO strategy, including but not limited to website architecture, link-building strategies, metadata, structured data, XML sitemaps and website speed optimization.Partner with SEO engineering to implement scalable, high-impact SEO solutions.Perform regular SEO audits to identify areas of improvement and strategize on feasible solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, engineering, and data analysis to implement SEO best practices throughout product development.Utilize data-driven insights to recommend and implement innovative SEO techniques that will increase organic traffic, improve ranking positions, and drive user acquisition.Educate internal stakeholders on the importance of SEO, sharing updates on algorithm changes, industry trends, and competitor strategies.Monitor, analyze, and report on SEO KPIs (e.g., crawl errors, site performance, rankings, traffic, and conversions).You have:5+ years of proven experience as a Product Manager or a similar role with at least 3 focused on technical SEO for a platform with substantial web content (50 million+ URLs).Experience with taking a customer-centric approach to SEO – improving quality for users while achieving business goals.Strong knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and other industry SEO and analytics tools.Deep understanding of SEO guidelines, algorithms, ranking signals, and search engine updates.Strong technical understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and server-side factors.Hands-on knowledge of complex crawl & log file analysis, site information / URL architecture optimization, core web vitals, site speed optimization, and advanced structured data implementation.Experience with SEO crawling software (e.g. Botify, Deepcrawl) and rank tracking (e.g. Conductor, Brightedge)Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.Knowledge of international SEO and managing multi-language or multi-region sites.Hands-on experience with site migrations. Familiarity with the tech subscription market for ebooks, audiobooks, and other media is a plus.At Scribd, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location. San Francisco is our highest geographic market in the United States. In the state of California, the reasonably expected salary range is between $139,000 [minimum salary in our lowest geographic market within California] to $217,000 [maximum salary in our highest geographic market within California].
In the United States, outside of California, the reasonably expected salary range is between $114,500 [minimum salary in our lowest US geographic market outside of California] to $206,000 [maximum salary in our highest US geographic market outside of California].
In Canada, the reasonably expected salary range is between $144,000 CAD[minimum salary in our lowest geographic market] to $205,000 CAD[maximum salary in our highest geographic market].
We carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including but not limited to experience; job-related skill sets; relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs. The salary range listed is for the level at which this job has been scoped. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for a competitive equity ownership, and a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
