PURPOSE

Operating as part of the International Product function, the successful candidate will work with Business Leaders and Subject Matter Experts to gain insight on existing process, procedure, local market and regulatory/legal requirements in the context of driving the strategic change on the core acquiring platform  for Global Payments AP. The successful candidate will own, manage and maintain the integrity of our core processing platforms for providing Authorisations, Clearing and settlement services,  Scheme Settlement & Merchant Pricing. They will work in partnership with product managers of the wider AP Product Management team to deliver high quality solutions to the AP businesses.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for reviewing, approving and initiating all changes to these systems and maximizing opportunities to enhance the overall proposition and services. They will be tasked with ensuring that the platform(s) support the company's overall strategy and goals and scheme / regulatory compliance.

This is a highly active and varied role, requiring a driven leader and the acceptance / willingness to flex into tasks and activities outside of the formal job description as needed. Candidates must be able to demonstrate recent experience of similar roles and responsibilities. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as the product leader with accountability for the changes and long term strategy for the acquiring platforms.

Sponsor and/or approve any changes required to the platform whether regulatory or discretionary providing leadership to project managers/working groups as necessary

Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap of all enhancements/projects/initiatives for these platforms in line with overall strategy for product

Actively manage any changes, attending internal meetings as required to ensure integrity of the platforms, escalating as necessary. 

Develop and maintain any related internal/external messaging/collateral and communications for these platforms

Ownership and management of compliance with industry standards for local  regulation, including Card Schemes.

Provide technical support to the business/customers/3rd parties as and when required

Working with finance and other stakeholders to agree pricing/charging strategies across the platforms 

Management and strategic decision maker for the third party gateways, scheme connections, accreditation criteria and integrity of the data shared by those connections. 

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS or ABILITIES / BEHAVIOR)

Knowledge of card schemes (such as Visa, Mastercard, JCB, China UnionPay), domestic TW  (NCCC) credit card processor, APM (QR codes) and RTP (realtime payment)

Exceptional communication skills at all levels. 

Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

Ability to motivate influence others and move toward a common vision or goal

Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations

Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere

Forward looking with a holistic approach

Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges

Strong experience of technology, processes and tools to support program & project management. 

Ability to complete analysis that drives business decisions. 

Understanding of payments processing systems/applications 

In addition to English, Chinese language proficiency on both spoken and written on the domain’s technical terms is a must

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from college or university

10+ years of experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of the payments industry and/or a strong technical background.

10+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
