Senior Product Manager
**Company:** Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. **Job Area:** Operations Group, Operations Group > Product Management **General Summary:** The Audio/Voice Product Manager will be responsible for audio/voice software technologies for Qualcomm, with a focus on Voice AI / UI, across business units, with product definition and customer ownership of audio across Qualcomm’s business units, include mobile, compute, and XR. Directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. Functions as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing, and distribution as the product(s) and/or product line(s) move through their lifecycle. Formulates and executes long-term roadmaps for cost/profit control. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Directs those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of the product or product line. **Minimum Qualifications:** • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field. • 4+ years of Product Management or related work experience. **Preferred Qualifications:** • 7+ years of Product Management or related work experience. • 2+ years of working with operating budgets and/or project financials. • 2+ years of negotiating 3rd party business agreements. • 2+ years of working in a large matrixed organization. **Principal Duties and Responsibilities:** • Drive software development process, liaise across engineering and teams (especially Snapdragon, OS (Android, Windows), Audio & Voice software, DSP), create Feature Requests and own Software Products. • Responsible for voice technologies which includes the keyword / wakeword detection, echo cancellation & noise suppression, speech recognition, text-to-speech, and understanding the entire voice AI / user interface experience and needs. • Work with ecosystem partners, ranging from embedded to cloud companies, in the audio and voice space. • Develop and maintain the audio/voice software roadmap for development and delivery within Qualcomm platforms. • Develop Market Requirements for audio across BUs, including mobile, compute, XR, Wearables, IoT, and Automotive. • Prepares and delivers highly complex technical presentations for new and existing products that explain and demonstrate products managed to customers. • Maintains expertise by staying up to date on competitors, technological advances, and the product ecosystem and takes the lead on development and design innovation of products in an established area to articulate differentiation of products to customers and identify trends. • Ensures successful cross-functional collaboration by ensuring that agreed upon KPIs and specifications are met for product(s), upon delivery by engineering team. • Collaborates with key stakeholders and program sponsors to develop product goals (e.g., performance, cost, timeline, customer schedules), discuss product feasibility, and facilitate cross-functional decision making for products they own. **Level of Responsibility:** • Working independently with little supervision. • Making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may have financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct. • Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents. • Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions). • Completing tasks that do not have defined steps; simultaneous use of multiple mental abilities is generally required to determine the best approach; mistakes may result in significant rework. • Exercising substantial creativity to innovate new processes, procedures, or work products within guidelines or to achieve established objectives. • Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or conflicting; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required. • Occasionally participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations.
