The Abyss Design System’s is an enterprise-wide design system with the primary goal to deliver reusable components that drive efficiency and consistency across the enterprise. Abyss supports web, mobile web, and app design components and is growing rapidly. We are looking for an Abyss design system product owner to work directly with engineering to modernize and accelerate our delivery.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Product owner for the design system which includes user story writing & refinement, backlog prioritization, and sprint planning
+ Collaborates closely with design, engineering, and product teams to ensure the design system is scalable, consistent, and aligned with brand guidelines
+ Prioritizes features, components, and updates based on user needs, team feedback, and business priorities
+ Partners with user research team to understand market trends and ensure components are accessible and performant
+ Advocate for the design system across the organization, educating teams on its benefits and best practices
+ Ensure accessibility standards and design guidelines are followed throughout the design system
+ Maintain and update a backlog of design system components, documenting the status of each for transparency
+ Coordinate releases of new versions of the design system, communicating changes and updates to stakeholders

**Required Qualifications:**
+ 3+ years of proven experience in agile product management with a focus on design systems
+ Experience working in agile environments and managing product backlogs
+ Has previously worked or is currently working as a contractor placed at UHG or one of its subsidiaries or affiliates
+ Proven excellent communication and collaboration skills
+ Proven comfortable working with cross functional teams comprising product managers, project managers, marketers and software engineers

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
