Senior Product Manager - Extensibility Platform

What you'll do Product Managers at Docusign are the CEOs of their product and ship features that make our customers successful. As a platform PM, your customers are teams inside Docusign who want to integrate third-parties into their products and external developers who want to integrate their products into Docusign. This Senior Product Manager will own a combination of Extensibility Platform horizontals like extension app developer experiences and verticals like strategically important extension types for use cases such as payments, trust service providers, and identity verification. As the Senior PM, you will drive the long-term vision and roadmap in these areas alongside internal product and external partner experts, collaborating with the engineering and program management teams on execution. You will apply industry best practices and precedents established by other leading extensibility platforms and innovate solutions and experiences where Docusign developers have unique needs. Lastly, you will drive evangelizing the platform to internal product teams and external partners, driving adoption and best practices with other key stakeholders. This role will focus primarily on Docusign extension app developers but must work with area experts to learn the needs of end-customer personas like admins, process builders, preparers, and participants. You will work closely with Engineering, Design, Dev Content, Product and Program Management to develop the vision, requirements, solution design, roadmap and delivery in the above areas. Your objectives will be directly linked to business metrics such as extension app usage and growth and internal and external developer satisfaction and efficiency. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Extensibility Platform Lead Product Manager. Responsibility Review competitors, vendors, and industry trends as well as customer and developer requirements in the Extensibility Platform and Extension Developer Experience spaces and apply them to Docusign’s product strategy Translate product and functional requirements into developer-ready user stories and acceptance criteria, drive prioritization and backlog for effective release and sprint planning and support bug triage as needed Monitor, measure and communicate key Extensibility Platform Developer Experience and extension type metrics while identifying areas for continuous improvement Lead the strategy, customer engagement, and roadmap for Docusign’s Extensibility Platform Developer Experience and envision new and unified dev processes, SDKs, utilities, tools, and content in partnership with other Extensibility Platform PMs and other internal Developer Experience drivers Partner with internal product teams and broader Extensibility Platform and Builders and Partners product teams to identify new extension types, gather and clarify requirements, and execute cross-functionally (Engineering, Product Management, Design, etc.) to take extension types and related features from concept to launch Evaluate trade-off decisions across extension type experiences to ensure extension types meet as many cross-product requirements as needed through abstraction and configurability Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. What you bring Basic 8+ years of experience and Bachelor’s degree OR 6+ years of experience and a Master’s degree Analytical and problem-solving skills enabling the candidate to align strategy, customer need, research, data and industry trends Experience working and leading cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Program Management, Data Science, User Research, and GTM business development roles Experience bringing customer voice to the developer experience Experience as a customer-centric developer and/or building developer products such as Dev Tools, version control systems, CI/CD, web and desktop applications, or similar Experience in technical product management building enterprise cloud/SaaS products/services. Preferred Excellent written skills including authoring multiple, complex and technical product requirement documents Excellent communicator able to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences to create shared understanding, resolve conflict, and obtain actionable consensus Experience taking a product from concept to launch Experience aggregating and synthesizing developer platforms and requirements to create scalable and reusable integration abstractions Experience in delivering products using iterative or Agile methodologies, including modeling experiences using task/storyboards, user stories or use cases, etc.; and driving planning and execution using work item systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) Experience reviewing business and performance insights to make data-driven decisions Experience giving presentations to developers, writing developer documentation, and creating content or tools to help developers learn and build Ability and willingness to implement sample applications and sample code snippets using contemporary programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, C#) Experience and willingness to explore 3rd party public APIs and deeply grasp cross-product authentication aspects (e.g., OAuth, Authn/Authz) Experience with popular and industry standard developer tools and frameworks (e.g., NPM, Node, React, GitHub, VS Code) Experience with API design and development, including naming/usability standards Experience working on client and server-side developer integration (e.g., embed, extend) platforms Experience driving inner open source projects Wage Transparency Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations: California: $134,900 - $216,975 base salary Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $129,000 - $190,550 base salary This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
