THE ROLE: Senior Product Owner
WHO YOU ARE
Polly is hiring a Senior Product Owner who will be responsible for enabling engineering teams to deliver value in alignment with product strategy and architectural direction. The Senior Product Owner will define user stories, prioritize the team backlog, contribute a solid understanding of end users and their needs, and identify future capabilities for the product. In this position, you will be working closely with Engineering Leadership to articulate product vision to the Engineering team, help influence product direction, and drive and define the launch of new products.
WHAT YOU'VE DONE
Work closely with, and help guide, the development team by providing vision and direction by prioritizing and maintaining a rolling product backlog.
Own the team’s backlog and be actively involved in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, refinements, sprint planning sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Assess the value of proposed work, develop business cases, and prioritize the product backlog appropriately to ensure work focuses on items with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
Facilitate conversations with business and product partners regarding roadmap trade-offs when necessary.
Work closely with UX Research and Product Design to ensure you and your team fully understand customer needs and behavior.
Submit compliance updates for review when changes to feature designs are necessary.
Proactively engage stakeholders, receive feedback, and manage expectations.
Be a champion for the product, the delivery team, and their goals.
Break down features into detailed consumable and testable stories.
Collaborate with other product owners and stakeholders to define, prioritize, and drive the realization of the product vision to meet business priorities.
Act as the subject-matter expert for the products owned by the teams.
Communicate release notes and product news and demo product capabilities to stakeholders.
Communicate status, risks, and requirements to leadership and partner groups.
Provide input and conceive ideas for enhancing product performance and shaping product roadmaps.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
BA or BS degree required and/or 6+ years of experience in a related field.
5+ years of experience in product management for an engineering team.
Embody product thinking - consistently asking "why" and taking a multi-view of a problem.
Obsession with creating business processes and the micro interactions between the users/customers and the products.
Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams and the ability to work with product and technology resources across different organizations.
Experience working on cross-functional, high-performing teams.
Proven ability to be self-directed and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Creative thinker with an open mind to learn and explore new areas and to develop and recommend opportunities and solutions.
Demonstrated effective leadership by earning trust, respect, and fostering the development of self-organizing teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; ability to give clear and consistent instructions to team members required.
Ability to communicate ideas, alternatives, and solutions with distributed teams.
Proven execution and product management skills.
Ability to handle multiple issues concurrently and effectively navigate high-pressure situations.
Analytical thinker with attention to detail and accuracy.
Certification as a Product Owner is a plus.
Experience with Azure DevOps is a plus.

Salary: $105,000-$120,000
