Description

We are seeking a Digital Product Owner to define and deliver the digital capabilities necessary to transition insurance operations from USRM Small Commercial Business to the GRS Middle Market Business. This role involves mapping the current state of the business processes/ applications, identifying gaps, and helping to define the future state of the digital products. The Product Owner will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to prioritize features, manage the product backlog, and ensure that technical teams are aligned with strategic goals. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of both insurance processes and digital transformation in order to drive business growth and efficiency.

 

We seek a visionary leader with a strong process background and an ability to manage a matrix of workstreams to help shape this transformation. You will be a key player within Business Agility and a strategic thought leader partnering with key stakeholders across the business to drive alignment and foster a product mindset.  This is a unique opportunity to lead in an Agile manner at the intersection of strategy, execution, and innovation.    

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Leadership: Act as a thought leader in product strategy, drive the vision/ roadmap for the transition from Small Commercial to Middle Market, setting the vision for an agile transformation that aligns with the organization’s broader goals and market dynamics.Stakeholder Partnership: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the company, acting as a trusted partner to executives, technology teams, and other business leaders to ensure alignment on priorities and outcomes.Product Mindset Champion: Advocate for and embed a product-centric culture within the organization, emphasizing value creation, customer focus, and iterative development. Manages delivery of scope, partners with the Leadership Team and Business Sponsors to align on key functional strategic outcomes, initiative performance and funding / resource.Agile Transformation: Lead the organization’s ongoing agile transformation, driving continuous improvement in product development processes and promoting agility at all levels of the company. Participates to provide feedback, support, coaching, in sprint-and release plans together with Product Managers and Technology counterparts.Innovation and Thought Leadership: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging practices in product development, bringing new ideas and opportunities to the organization.Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and inspire Product Owners, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Lead by example in adopting agile practices and a growth mindset. Help oversee their respective agile teams and stakeholders to align priorities, remove roadblocks and secure resources.  Works closely with IT and other Business counterparts to ensure resource alignment in support of Portfolio vision and roadmaps.  Business Knowledge: Deeply understand the businesses that comprise GRS, their go-to-market strategies, their common opportunities to leverage scale, and their unique differences that are required to win in local markets.Outcome Ownership: Define and communicate clear, measurable outcomes (OKRs) for product teams and sets at ambitious digital portfolio strategy, ensuring they are aligned with strategic business objectives and customer needs.Customer Centric: Partner with Design Team to ensure customer-driven design is prioritized, considering user pain points from usability test results and market industry knowledge to deliver a well-positioned product.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

While the ideal candidate will have knowledge of either USRM Business Lines or GRS Middle Market Operations/ Systems, it is not a requirementProven experience as a senior product leader within agile organizations.Strong track record of successfully driving organizational change and transformation.Deep understanding of agile methodologies, with experience leading agile transformations.Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills, with the ability to build consensus across diverse teams and stakeholders.Strategic thinker with a hands-on product management background and a keen understanding of customer needs and market trends.Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience developing high-performing, cross-functional teams.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability even in the face of some level of uncertainty.Experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting.High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product within the Underwriting or Policy Servicing Domain and understand business value impacts.Master`s degree preferred. Qualifications Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelors’ degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.) and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting. Master’s degree preferred. High level of proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts. Technical proficiency required to oversee quarterly & sprint planning and to have an informed, independent voice. Strong influencing skills to be seen as the decision maker when interfacing with business, and willingness to dissent with both teams and business. Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders through strong leadership skillsAbility to coach and inspire both direct reports and matrixed teams.Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty in a fast-paced working environmentExcellent oral and written communication skills, ability to convey information clearly and concisely About Us
