The R&D Sr. Product/Process Development Scientist role significantly impacts both the business unit and the R&D team by building and implementing improved technical capabilities, leading project teams, and influencing leadership decisions. Join us to make a meaningful impact and help create a cleaner, safer world. **In this role, you will:** As a R&D Sr. Product/Process Development Scientist in Clorox Professional, you have the opportunity to show up as a leader, leave an impact on project teams, continually build up our capabilities and our technical team, and have a direct impact and influence leadership decisions given our flat organization. You are critical to helping create the environment for our team’s growth, but also an integral member of a team in developing and scaling solutions that are effective, but also delivering on the needs of our end-users that are on the front lines of public health. The role will be both strategic and tactical in nature, with opportunities to demonstrate technical leadership with cross-functional partners. You will try new things every day, work in a dynamic lab and open workspace environment, and bring leading edge thinking in the areas of formulation and technology. A successful individual will embrace the full, fun and challenging process of developing products in a fast paced, EPA-regulated environment. **Key Responsibilities:** + Demonstrate formulation expertise and benchtop chemistry techniques to solve key technical challenges and deliver on key product attributes + Apply fundamental technical and processing knowledge from inside resources and co-manufacturers to achieve project requirements. + Lead, design and execute project work against innovation and commercialization objectives + Utilize creative problem-solving skills, technical expertise and bias for action to deliver solutions that meet end-user and customer needs on time and with excellence + Build strong working relationships with peers, stakeholders, cross-functional and external partners to facilitate alignment and efficient and on-time execution of projects + Develop deep understanding of the Healthcare and Janitorial business categories, helping R&D meet both margin and growth goals for the business. + Create prototypes to bring product solutions to life and test with the end-user + Provide thought leadership embracing the full product proposition including product claims with multi-disciplined project teams + Create a sustainable competitive advantage for Clorox by having an external lens, identifying new opportunities and building internal technical/testing capabilities within the R&D team. + Act as a mentor to more junior scientists on the team, guiding and coaching them in their technical work both in the What and How. **What we look for:** + BS, MS or PhD in relevant science or engineering discipline (i.e. Chemical Engineering) or equivalent industry experience + 4+ years of development experience in Consumer Packaged Goods and chemistry/formulation experience preferred + High passion, technical curiosity, positive drive and commitment in setting and meeting aggressive functional and business goals + Ability to identify, champion and adapt new technologies, tools and processes + Experience with development and commercialization of consumer-centric products and/or services + Demonstrated influence skills to sell in ideas to teams and the greater organization + Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to work in a highly collaborative team environment, both with internal multi-functional groups and external partners + Experience with data analysis tools to drive decision making, modeling & simulation mindset preferred \#LI-Hybri **Workplace type:** Hybrid - This position will be located in our Pleasanton, CA office, and the individual will be expected to be in the office 3 days a week **We seek out and celebrate diverse backgrounds and experiences. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area. –Zone A: $104,100 - $199,100 –Zone B: $95,500 - $183,300 –Zone C: $86,800 - $166,600 All ranges are subject to change in the future.
