About the Job:
The Senior Product Strategist will set the future direction for business and support company thinking on where to channel its resources to win in the short, mid, and long term. Develops strategy and product roadmap for the innovation department. The Senior Product Strategist is customer focused and drives value proposition from concept up to commercialization. Collaborates across functions and is considered a thoughtful, constructive, strategic and an action-oriented leader the teams wants to follow. Adipose Tissue procedures will be the primary focus in the short to midterm.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Intelligence and Voice of the Customer
Attends surgery as needed to develop in-depth understanding of clinical applications, workflows, and user needs.Supports the monitoring of competitive landscape and factors trends into concept strategies.Converts voice of the customer (VOC) based market insights captured by Product Management into device user needs and design inputs.Drives further in-depth VOC as needed for new product concepts to ensure user needs and design inputs are well understood.Supports Primary and Secondary Clinical ResearchInnovation
In alignment with company strategy, supports the new product pipeline portfolio planning and innovation strategy.Drives the execution of the concept strategy and opportunity process for new products with support from innovation team.Builds financial models based on market size, number of procedures, target customer segments, cost, price, and future forecasting with support and alignment to Sales and Product Management.Supports product development team from concept to commercialization with focus on value drivers for customers.Drives formative usability efforts with support from Innovation Team. Supports summative usability efforts during development. Expected to lead customer facing events.Supports product development team with expert technical input and review of appropriate design content (e.g., Usability Engineering, Risk Management, Product Trace Matrix, labeling).Supports regulatory path planning and FDA/notified body submissions.Responsible for coordinating Instructions for Use content during product development.Qualifications & Skills
Education Requirements: B.S. or B.A. degree required (Marketing or Engineering preferred), master’s degree a plus (Business Administration, Marketing or Engineering preferred);
Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of product management experience required with responsibility over strategy. Medical device industry experienced preferred, but not required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with MicroAire cross-functional team members, surgeon consultants, and sales agents/distributors
Must have a solid understanding of market planning, business and product development, product strategy, financial analysis/budgeting and market research.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience(s) with new product development and product management from concept inception to commercialization.
Other qualification requirements include creativity with equal emphasis on strategic and tactical planning; excellent oral/written communication skills, strong leadership qualities and ability to work with others under a dynamic working environment.
Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making capabilities
Ability to understand and apply financial acumen
Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
