Franklin Templeton is seeking an exceptional candidate to join the US Alternatives Product team. This solution-oriented individual will support the growth of this new division through strategic development of new competitive solutions across all alternative asset classes.
What is the Senior Product Strategy Manager, Alternatives responsible for?
This individual will partner across US distribution and the alternative investment managers to drive our alternatives product development and strategy efforts and increase alternatives knowledge at the firm. They will also keep the firm current on competitor strategies and offerings, quickly changing regulatory impacts and innovative vehicle design. Success will be defined through delivery of relevant vehicles to play in the existing market spaces, and leadership in the rapidly developing democratization of access to alternatives.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Product Strategy Manager, Alternatives?
Continuously monitor and research competitor, client, regulatory, and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and product developmentHelp define and build the business case for product strategy and new product development for senior stakeholders across distribution and investment leadership.Collaborate with key partners across the broader product, data, and investment teams to house and analyze sales, performance and characteristic dataContribute to the development of business processes and structureEngage with SIMs to develop and deliver new product ideasAdvocate for the Alternatives business within Franklin Templeton and the wider industryHelp educate/develop internal partners in finance/legal/marketing, etc. on alts-specific issues and how to evolve processes to meet those needsWhat ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
Bachelor’s Degree required; CFA or CAIA strongly preferred10+ years of financial services industry experience with a focus on alternatives in product development/management or related function.FINRA Licenses 7 & 63 or ability to obtain within 6 monthsSolutions-oriented and ability to work in an agile environment supporting a new channel and its growth planStrong demonstrated ability to accurately curate and understand data from Morningstar, Preqin, Bloomberg, Pitchbook and other relevant sourcesExperienced in creating polished documentation using MS PowerPoint, Word and ExcelComfortable leading or managing multiple project workstreamsStrong organizational and multitasking skills; ability to deal with ambiguity & rapid change and competing deadlinesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to review and synthesize information and form independent judgmentsStrong analytical and quantitative abilitiesHigh attention to detail, strong organizational skills and excellent follow-throughCompensation Range: Franklin Templeton offers employees a competitive and valuable range of total rewards—monetary and non-monetary—designed to support the whole person and to recognize their time, talents, and results. Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $190,000 – $220,000.
