This position primary core functions are to perform new assembly, testing, inspection and disassembly/reassembly of various pump products (Grundfos and competitor products.) These tasks will be performed using various instruction methods including bills of material and written and verbal instructions. The ideal candidate is well versed in the safe operation of standard and specialist hand and power tools. This position reports directly to the APU Supervisor and will operate daily out of the Aurora, IL facility. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa. **Your main responsibilities:** + Review order details, prints, Bill of Materials, and data sheets. + Make visual, mechanical, and electrical checks of products and parts while completing inspection documentation as required. + Place bushings and bearings into position while installing shafts, couplings, etc. + Check proper alignment using miscellaneous indicators, gauges and equipment. + Install appropriate fasteners complying with specified torque requirements. + Perform hydrostatic tests on equipment as required. + Perform the piping, coupling, electrical and support/rigging setup and installation of products for a variety of testing in a lab test environment. + Make/record in process and final checks of completed assemblies and test installations. + Use judgement throughout the assembly process to adjust as needed such as filing, scrapping, re-reframing, shaft key alterations, spacers, shims as needed to ensure proper fit. + Safely use various torches, and MIG welders to complete assemblies, modifications and test installations as needed. + Safely retrieve and handle materials using manual and/or electric pallet jacks and lift trucks. + Ability and willingness to learn and perform dynamic balancing of rotating components and assemblies. + Participate and collaborate in the objectives, programs and procedures of health, safety and environment, in addition to the activities that are carried out to comply. **Your background:** **We imagine that you have:** + A minimum of 2+ years of experience in service assembly and test, as well as previous experience shipping, receiving, or warehousing experience is required. + Must be able to drive a reach truck and sit-down fork truck – A recent certification is preferred. + Must be able to operate overhead and jib cranes. + General knowledge in an ERP system with SAP experience being preferred. + Ability to lift 50 pounds. **What’s in it for you?** Whether it’s developing leadership skills or advancing your expertise even further, we’ll support you with continuous learning and development opportunities, to help discuss and steer your long-term Grundfos career path.
