Senior Program Manager, Commute

The Senior Program Manager, Commute Operations will work closely with the Sr. Commute Program Delivery Manager and other stakeholders to manage all operations of the Commute Services program across all areas of AMER. This position provides leadership and oversight of the commute Area Program Managers to ensure consistent deployment of all transportation activities, including public transit service, campus and commuter shuttles, rideshare programs, active transportation, parking, and customer engagement among others.  This position takes direction from the Senior Program Delivery Manager and ensures proper execution of strategy throughout AMER operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with and provide oversight to Area Program Managers to execute strategic and tactical plans that further the development of a best-in-class employee commute program.Oversee all AMER operational program elements such as shuttle, parking, transit & Transportation Demand Management (TDM).Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and liaison with regional business leaders, department managers and all relevant internal and external stakeholders.Clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with a wide range of stakeholders including executive-level management, ground-level employees, and all relevant internal and external stakeholders.Meet onsite with site-level and departmental leaders in order to build relationships, communicate program requirements, and develop positive ongoing working relationships.Work with shuttle program managers on all aspects of commuter, campus, and on-demand shuttle systems, both programmatically and through in-person audits.Facilitate data analysis and reporting across all program elements, including program success metrics, ridership data, route performance data, environmental impact, monthly business reports and financials.Ensure that department savings and budget goals are met. Develop operating plans and cost estimates for personnel, equipment, vehicles, services, and supplies.Regularly report out to Commute Planning Team on data analysis and operational enhancement recommendations.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Enthusiasm for / interest in sustainable transportation.BA/BS in sustainability, communications, business, hospitality, or related field.6+ years of experience, not including internships or coursework, working in transportation demand management or related field where relevant skills can be demonstrated.Program management and program development experience.Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous improvement.Strong quantitative and data analysis skills.Experience building consensus across a diverse range of stakeholders and driving complex, cross-functional programs forward in a fast-paced, visible, and client-facing environment.Excellent communication and client/customer service skills (writing sample will be requested).Strong public speaking skills and the ability to lead short but effective meetings.Proficiency using MS Office Suite.Excellent organizational skills.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES:

Advanced degree in urban planning, real estate, geography, business, sustainability, or a related field, preferred but not required.PMI Program Management certification (PgMP), or other related certifications, preferred but not required.

Experience building consensus across a diverse range of stakeholders and driving complex, cross-functional programs forward in a fast-paced, visible, and client-facing environment.Able to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents.Able to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.Write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style.Make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.Motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.Comfortable meeting and engaging with new people.Warm and engaging demeanor. Able to assess circumstances, empathize and offer help.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE:

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.Experience working with an accrual-based accounting system.Ability to calculate complex figures.Ability to forecast and prepare budgets.Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.Requires analytical and quantitative skills.Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact program elements.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:

Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word and Excel.Good organization and time management skills.Knowledge of transportation demand management concepts and strategies.Must work well under pressure with multiple deadlines and demonstrate a proactive approach to routine and non-routine occurrences.Able to work flexible work schedules based on business need.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

129,500.00 – 187,800.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
