Become a **maker of possible** with us. **Job Summary** Reporting to the Associate Director, PMO Operations, this Senior Program Manager is responsible for overseeing business critical processes of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool management, resource and budget management, and data analysis for annual and quarterly R&D portfolio management reviews This role will enable efficient and accurate management of resources, budgets, and project data to support strategic decision-making within the R&D portfolio of BDB. **Duties and Responsibilities** Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tools: + Responsible for the administration and utilization of the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool utilized by BDB PMO, Oneplan. + Ensure accurate and up-to-date project data within the PPM tool. + Provide training and support to users, ensuring effective utilization of the tool. + Identify opportunities for tool enhancements and work with BDX team to implement improvements. **Resource and Budget Management:** + Support the management of the R&D budget process, working with the finance team on the development of annual budgets, headcount planning and tracking mechanisms. + Ensure accurate reporting against plans and forecasts on a monthly and quarterly basis. + Participate in the development of portfolio options analysis in the context of increases or decreases in R&D funding due to business or market conditions that can be brought forward into portfolio reviews. + Coordinate with core team leaders (CTLs), project managers and functional managers to ensure accurate and timely forecasted resource needs and resolve prioritization conflicts. + Ensure alignment of resource and budget planning with organizational objectives and strategic goals. **Data for Portfolio Management:** + Prepare data for internal quarterly portfolio reviews, ensuring all input materials are comprehensive, accurate and timely. This data is essential to the functioning of these business-critical meetings which drive tactical and strategic decision making with a lasting impact on business performance. + Capture and publish the output from the reviews with detailed action plans, newly defined roadmaps, and resource allocations along with the list of prioritized programs. + Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide insights into project and portfolio performance, resource utilization, and budget status. + In conjunction with the Platform team, develop and maintain product launch roadmaps for all product groups. **Support NPD and Portfolio Reviews** + Support the development of strategy, content and execution of biannual portfolio and NPD reviews with BDX. + Collate relevant information from various stakeholders to develop storyboard and slide deck, including garnering the right input for the standard template slides. + Drive the creation and updates of all relevant business cases in time for the portfolio reviews. + Develop guidance on a standard approach to business models and the assumptions going into business cases to facilitate “apples-to-apples” comparisons. **Training and Support:** + Support/Facilitate GPDS (Global Product Delivery System) training and other upskilling training for project managers and team members to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge, including the use of project management software and tools, and understanding of organizational processes. + Assist in the development and implementation of PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices. Ensure compliance with PMO governance and quality standards. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree in science discipline preferable; PMP certification preferred. + Experience with the implementation and management of PPM tools required. Creation of PowerBI reports desired, Six sigma certification is a plus. + Greater than 8 years overall experience, with a minimum of 5-6 years working in a program/project management capacity leading cross-functional teams; along with min 2-3 years of experience with the development of complex instruments or assays (RUO and IVD). + Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills coupled to strong business and financial acumen. + A very high attention to detail, tenacious and diligent. Goes the extra mile to ensure high quality work. Organized, and professional. + Highly effective interpersonal skills on a cross-cultural level with excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills. + Effective and confident in the engagement with senior leadership from a variety of functions up to Executive level. + Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills coupled to strong business and financial acumen. + Job Location: San Jose or San Diego. If San Diego, willingness to travel to San Jose regularly.
