Senior Program Manager, Security Issue Management (SIM) Team
Description The Security Issue Management (SIM) team in Defensive Security builds solutions that keep Amazon systems and data secure on behalf of Amazon's customers. Our customers range from security engineers who need a comprehensive understanding of Amazon systems and their security state, to builder teams who need solutions that make it easy to build and operate secure systems. We have bold goals to stay ahead of the curve on security and delight our customers with great products In this role you will own business operations, initiatives, and goals for the SIM organization. You will be responsible for driving key operational processes, tracking business reporting requirements, communication processes, and coordinating updates to senior leadership on major programs and projects. You must be an excellent writer who can succinctly communicate complicated technical and operational issues in business terms. Working cross-functionally is key, and you will need to be comfortable performing in a highly collaborative environment and working with your peers to accomplish joint projects and meet the objectives. You will work with key stakeholders in Amazon Vulnerability Management and Remediation (VMR), and Business Security Teams (BST), and individual leaders across the organization to define goals, track progress, and communicate priorities and escalate issues. You will be responsible for defining, tracking, and driving execution of program documentation and communication deliverables. Key job responsibilities - Drives program, initiative, and corresponding deliverables, provide strategic direction, escalation management, and deliver regular communications to senior leadership and program stakeholders. - Applies meticulous organizational skills, exceptional writing skills, high attention to detail, spot-on judgement, and vigorously advocates for the customer. - Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions. - Owns communications to stakeholders on progress, issues, and risks including regular status updates while identifying opportunities to invent and simplify recurring processes that scale with a growing organization. A day in the life This role drives the pulse of Shepherd, ensuring the team is aligned and connected to its partners. You will manage all operational aspects of the team ensuring our programs and people are on track as well as helping to drive outcomes of the Shepherd product. You will communicate at the executive level with our partners globally to help them understand accurate status of what is happening on the ground with our teams. You will also partner with our product team to drive our annual planning cycle, aligning and setting expectations between executive stakeholders, engineering teams, Security leadership. You will manage multiple end to end projects and key mechanisms, while demonstrating high judgement, clear communication, creative approaches, the ability to think big, and a consistent track record of delivering results. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
