OVERVIEW The Senior Programmer provides advanced level technology solutions and supports major initiatives as deemed necessary. This position is expected to share expertise and act as a mentor to less experienced personnel in the Applications and Development discipline. RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned) 1. Possess advanced knowledge of multiple applications and function as an advanced escalation resource for application projects, whether in production or in the development / implementation process. 2. Provide advanced technical advice less experienced Applications and Development personnel. 3. Create and tune advanced SQL queries as part of the application development process. 4. Facilitate teams that may include peer-level professionals, specialized technicians, managers, contractors, consultants and/or customers. 5. Provide mentoring / coaching / code review / documentation review to Applications and Development staff. 6. Provide advanced level development for the implementation of ideas from inception through the software development life cycle, using Sheetz approved development tools. 7. Work closely with other disciplines to provide advanced guidance for technology solutions. 8. Stay up to date on the production technology solutions by attending related training and conferences as approved by management. 9. Provide evening and weekend “on call/issue” support as needed. Sheetz is open 24/7/365 and as such, our internal and external customers may require support at any time. 10. Provide oversight and leadership to Applications and Development personnel on the Sheetz agile process. 11. Comply with the Sheetz adopted agile and secure coding development methodologies. Refer to the Sheetz Applications and Development Agile Methodology SOP. QUALIFICATIONS Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered. Two years of experience is equivalent to one year of college/trade school) Education • A four-year degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering; or a four year degree in another field of study which includes courses in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, or systems engineering is preferred Experience • 7 years of applicable experience in a technology environment required, to include: • 3 years of experience in an application development role, including demonstrated success with advanced development projects • Experience with programming, logic analysis, and current development methodologies is preferred. Licenses/Certifications • One or more of the following certifications is preferred: • Agile Scrum Master certification • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or similar certification • Certification in a specific Development methodology Tools & Equipment • General Office Equipment ACCOMMODATIONS Sheetz is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals.
