Senior Programmer Analyst
Location: Oneonta, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Tue Feb 4 2025 Job Description: The SUNY Student Information and Campus Administrative Systems (SICAS) Center located at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for two Senior Programmer Analysts. This position will require a person with a diverse set of skills who can manage multiple projects for the SICAS Center and the campuses we support. While supporting Banner is our core mission, we are continually expanding our footprint to include the technologies used by our members. This position will require someone with the ability to learn a new application quickly to effectively work with it and translate that knowledge into materials others can learn from. The SICAS Center is a SUNY-wide shared service organized to provide software enhancements, technical support, best practices, and training for Ellucian's Banner software system to member campuses including SUNY state operated and community college campuses as well as several associate member campuses made up of private colleges and universities in New York State. Based on your skillset, you will make an impact: + Participating on a team supporting 48 SUNY institutions using Banner + Creating and maintaining interfaces to third party products + Report writing + Creating Data extracts and loads to and from Banner + Writing and updating scribe in Degree Works + Create Argos data blocks What you will bring: + Minimum 4 years professional experience in software development + Ability to provide technical leadership + Good communication + Willingness and ability to adopt new technologies + Work with administrative users + Manage medium and large-scale projects independently with limited supervision + Demonstrated experience developing design specifications based on business requirements + Development and thorough testing based on the above specifications + Providing ongoing support to SICAS Applications and directly to campuses + Mentoring to other programmers Salary: $80,000-$85,000 commensurate with experience. Job Requirements: Required Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree + Minimum of 4 years of full-time professional experience in software development Preferred Qualifications: + Demonstrated experience supporting Ellucian's Banner software, SICAS Modified Banner preferred + Experience supporting or developing solutions in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Java, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, JSON, experience using Eclipse and/or IntelliJ + Demonstrated experience using other Ellucian applications + Experience using Ellucian Ethos and Banner Business Process API's + Experience developing and working with API's + Experience developing web pages through REST service calls + Experience using GIT and/or Subversion version control systems + Experience supporting Degree Works + Experience building data blocks and/or report writing with ARGOS + Experience with Mulesoft, Slate, StarRez, Nelnet, Touchnet, Courseleaf, Runner Technologies, Form Fusion, Intellecheck, Credential Solutions + Ability to communicate clearly and experience giving technical presentations and/or training + Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications + Knowledge of Unix/Linux + Experience working with and serving diverse populations Additional Information: SUNY Oneonta enrolls about 5,500 students who pursue bachelor's or master's degrees or certificates in one of 70-plus academic programs.
