Walsh is currently seeking a **Senior Project Accountant II** for our Transportation Division in Herndon, VA.
The Senior Project Accountant acts as an advisor to a Program Manager and leader in the accounting department. This person will have overall involvement with both the business planning process and maintaining the business plan goal throughout the year.

**Responsibilities**
+ Acts as trusted advisor to program managers
+ Actively participates in developing business plan financial information
+ Analyzes the financial impact of the WIP forecast in conjunction with business plan goals
+ Ability to manage a team of accountants rather than just one
+ Mentor Project Accountants and Associate Project Accountants.
+ Represent The Walsh Group as the lead on all financial communication with relevantstakeholders
+ Visit with projects regularly to understand issues with projects regularly to understand issues
+ Exhibits a working knowledge of the construction schedule, with the ability to recognize and communicate discrepancies
+ Works independently and demonstrates self-motivation
+ Represent the Company in Owner meetings and relations.
+ Adopts new technologies and participates in related pilot programs.
+ Initiates process improvements, identifying key players in attaining that goal
+ Coordination with the Legal and Risk departments as necessary throughout the life of the job and any claims
+ Report as required to remain compliant through FSRS (Federal Subaward Reporting System) as required by Federal Funding Accountability Transparency Act (FFATA).
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or business-related field
+ 4+ years of construction accounting experience preferred
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher)
+ Proficiency in CMiC
+ Experience in reading or interpreting financial statements
+ Strong verbal and written skills needed to communicate with external subcontractors and internal midto upper level management.
+ Up to 25% travel required
+ Onsite in our Herndon, VA regional office
