Senior Project Analyst

Your Impact at SAM The Senior Project Analyst will oversee, train and mentor the Project Specialist group, as well as assist new Project Managers with BST processes. In addition, the Senior Project Analyst will assist in identifying and researching issues with project financials and provide solutions. Assist the Regional and Office Management with contract compliance, budget tracking and financial forecasting. In addition, the Senior Project Analyst will review key performance indicators and may create variance-reporting standards to help managers track the projects’ progress compared to expectations. The ideal candidate will be able to perform these duties satisfactorily. Executes the Company’s vision and mission, while successfully practicing its core values related to employees, ethics, operational excellence, safety, integrity, and corporate social responsibility; Provide management and oversight to The Project Specialist Group; Provide formal and informal training and answer questions related to organization’s project management standards, and project management software applications; Facilitate good cash management by working with project managers, clients, and other departments to monitor, and take action when appropriate, to ensure WIP and AR metrics meet company and industry standards; Support Project Managers in execution of project maintenance, opening, inactivating, etc.; Gather and review contractual documents/proposals containing Scope and Fees: rate sheets, MSA (if applicable), T&C’s; Review project schedules and milestones; percentage of work complete (Ex. Weekly, Bi-Weekly, etc.); Confirm information in Project Management Plan (PMP) and Communications Management Plan (CMP) is correct and complete; Develop and use existing KPI’s to monitor project financials, cash flow, backlog, revenue forecasting and project budget vs actual; From a financial or performance standpoint, support project management phases such as planning, execution, and result monitoring; Support development of and maintain policies relating to department operations; Identify and report to Senior Management any trends and errors by conducting earnings review of assigned projects. Upon request, review other project analysts’ work for accuracy and completeness; Lead initiatives and special assignments at Senior Management’s direction; Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company’s strategic goals; This position has direct supervisory responsibilities. What You Bring to SAM 7+ years of related work experience in project analysis, financial analysis, or related field. Prior experience in the A-E-C (Architecture-Engineering-Construction) or related industry. Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI analysis. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent demonstrated experience). Advanced proficiency in project management and financial software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, or project accounting tools). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial data, deliverables, and recommendations to various stakeholders. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills to assess financial and operational trends. Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem solve on the fly. Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining a high level of teamwork and collaboration.
