HDR is looking for aSenior Project Architectto join our architecture practice. This person will be responsible for providing architectural expertise and mentoring, as well as delivering innovative architectural design for facilities across a variety of markets including civic, community, higher education, and science.This role includes the execution of design, layout, and detailing of architectural projects; coordinating and working closely with multidiscipline design teams throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration.Other duties may include: scope preparation, client and internal meetings, participation in design reviews, conducting schematic, design development, and construction document work sessions, reviewing architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines, writing/editing architectural specifications, and providing construction administration services.This individual needs to be creative, self motivated, and possess strong communication and leadership skills with a passion to deliver excellence.
In the role of Senior Project Architect, we'll count on you to:Lead a multidiscipline team and perform layout and detailing on architectural projectsIndependently coordinate work of a multidiscipline team through multiple phases of a projectEstablish owner/client and internal meetings, and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceConduct work sessions at project site in conjunction with Project Manager and other disciplinesCoordinate workload of team members through multiple phases to complete documents on scheduleReview architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesPerform QA/QC and technical reviewsWrite and edit architectural specificationsCoordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change ordersIncorporate agreed-upon changes into project documentsLead projects in a dual management role as neededProvide construction contract administration as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in ArchitectureExperience with civic, community, education, and science projectsExperience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not requiredKnowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign preferredRhino and Grasshopper experienceLocal candidates are preferredLIBC1
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field A minimum of 10 years experience Registered Architect Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule) Excellent written and communication skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process Demonstrated graphic presentation skills Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe
