Senior Project Controls Specialist

Founded to be humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology, and rigor to shape a better world. **The opportunity** We are currently looking for a Project Controls Specialist to join our team to work on various exciting projects in our New York City office including the private sector, federal and state-funded projects. The focus of this role is to provide strong commercial support to project managers, directors, and business administrators. In particular, in the areas of financial management of projects, general commercial support on projects, contract administration, sub-consultant management, bid support, and scheduling. Willingness to take on direct ownership and responsibility for tasks is a strong plus. In this role, your responsibilities would include: **Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:** + Lead the Commercial Management of projects, implementing of project-specific cost control processes to ensure project profitability and other commercial goals are met + Lead budget estimation, resource planning, contract review and assessment during project proposal and/or delivery stages. + Use the financial system to review, monitor and analyze financial performance, project costs and other performance parameters, collaborate with project and business leadership in determining corrective actions to address poor financial performance + Track actuals against budgets, conduct variance analyses, carry out reporting of project financials and respond to queries from project teams + Review the updating of project forecasts and collaborate closely with Project Managers, Directors, and Finance on a regular basis to ensure current and accurate reporting of project performance + Monitoring and handling scope changes; maintaining change and risk registers, issuing fee proposals; manage contract change orders + Coordinating monthly payment request process including invoicing, contract compliance, and monitoring accounts receivable + Lead the preparation of various monthly client reports + Sub-consultant management including preparation of sub-consultant agreements, tracking costs, and reviewing invoices and payments + Collaborate with the design team to track and compile engineering progress information to assist EV analysis **Qualified professionals will have:** + Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering, construction management or financial discipline + Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; prior experience in Architecture/ Engineering/ Construction industries preferred + Knowledge of commercial management and experience in contractual matters + Significant experience in the areas of budgeting, financial reporting, cost tracking + Advanced knowledge of Excel, data manipulation and spreadsheet design to communicate results is strongly preferred + Experience in Microsoft Power Platform (e.g. PowerBI, Power Automate) and/or other digital skills is preferred + Experience in project scheduling software Primavera P6 is an asset + Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively + Strong interpersonal and communication skills crucial for team-based working + Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness of work product Please note that all applicants must apply directly via the job portal. Options for alternative schedules and the ability to work outside of the office for a portion of your workweek are available **Hiring Range** - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York is $140,000 to $160,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
