Job Title: Senior Project Engineer
Duration: 6 to 12 Month Contract
Location: San Diego, CA
Work Status: United States Citizen or Green Card Holder / Permanent Resident
Work Hours: First Shift / 1st Shift / Day Time Hours
Education: B.S. Degree in Engineering Technology Field – And Ten Years Related Industry Experience And / OR Training ; Or Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience.
Pay: Depends On Experience / DOE / Flexible / OPEN
Job Summary:
· Update, and in some cases create, MS Project Plans for R&D Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) and Prognostic Health Monitoring (PHM) projects.
· Gather data to update plans, post standardized visual form up to 3 times per week, and update standardized milestone trackers in a visual form and post on a weekly basis.
· Provide R&D Leadership risk status using standardized format up to twice a week.
· Be expert level Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint user and comfortable working with and speaking to the team.
· Be familiar with Teamcenter and Enovia to access and status engineering documents/models is preferred.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities Include The Following –
Create, as necessary, and maintain R&D CMC and PHM project plans weekly
Facilitate and drive Red Dot/Green Dot meetings up on 3 times a week for key tasks.
Update and post R&D visual forms up to 3 times per week in association with CMC and PHM projects
Standardized visuals such as TRL Burn-Down Plan and MRL Burn-Down Plan and milestone progress trackers
Update Pyramid standardized milestone trackers once per week in for multiple projects
Print and post financials in monthly reports
Standardized trackers include budget and material tracking as well as resource spend as updated by finance
department
Update and provide to R&D Leadership risk status twice a week in a standardized visual form for TRL/MRL progression and milestones across CMC and PHM Projects
Update and manage project EWO’s to ensure alignment with MS project plans
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education AND Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the management of projects with at least 3 years in the aerospace and/or airline industry.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology a minimum, mechanical, aero, civil, or materials
science preferred
Expertise in developing and executing operating budgets.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels required
Demonstrated ability to multi-task with strong task orientation and attention to detail required
Experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS) a plus
Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain project plans required
Ability to coordinate with people in different project teams and functional roles required
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal required
Experience in Risk Management a plus
Required Computer Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Expertise in MS Project
Certificates / Licenses & Registrations:
PMI Project Management Professional certification a plus
Additional: Minimum Years of Experience is 5 years.
